Ok so i have the 4-2-1 Header from Hotshot, with the 2.25" midpipe.

Since I havent found any aftermarket cat backs for my 90 GT(besides the pacesetter), what are my options?

Take it to exhaust shop and get a custom 2.25 catback with muffler..probably will cost me $200+.

Any other options out there for me?

Go to Marco Muffler man. They are awesome. I'd just do custom exhaust with magnaflow muffler. That's what I have and love. You've ridden in my car, so you know whether you like it or not.

You could buy whichever muffler you prefer, then have an exhaust shop pipe it up for you as well.

Keep in mind a turbo car will be quieter compared to a N/A car. Trust me I have a header, high flow cat, straight into a magnaflow muffler and it's LOUD. I would suggest with 2.25" mandrel bent or 2.5" crush bent piping, resonator and a muffler of your choice I like Magnaflows.

I wouldn't go any higher than 2.5 as previously stated. I think mine was around $250 with muffler and piping.

ok so i bought the monza pacesetter cat back and the piping was a foot short. I got a muffler from my buddy (type rs) guessing generic muffler with dual tip. What i did was take my piping in with my muffler to a local 4x4 shop and had them weld everthing up, in total i think i spent $180 for the set up and its flawless. I have the header to stock b pipe which is soon to be corrected, to stock resonator and finally 2.5" all the way back to the muffler. I love how it sounds its almost sounds like it has a very small lope to it like a turbo subaru at an idle and then when i open her up she shounds like a mean screamin deamon!

The pacesetter cat back can only be used with teh Federal Emissions midpipe. I found this out on my old 90' GT - Ordered up a fed emissioned midpipe - bam perfect fit.

stock pipe is 1.75''... id go with 2'' just to be safe... 2.5 could have some clearence issues

Mid pipe is 2.25", would it be best to do the catback as 2.25" as well?

yup, 2.25" will work fine. won't effect performance. Your midpipe with the cat in it would end up being the restriction anyway.

there are no clearance issues espically if we can fit a 3" turbo exhaust in there, which i have seen done.

Well what did they quote you? Mine was on the cheaper side because i had the bulk of the piping already.

Fresh, I would recommend just doing 2.25".

As Slider mentioned, on an N/A car, a magnaflow with basically straight pipe is going to be attracting attention you don't need.
It will also be irritatingly loud to drive after even a short while.

FYI everyone, in our area of CA, shop rate is about $80 an hour. Then add parts/materials to the mix ad it adds up quickly.

Yeah im going to. got some qoutes the other day, cheapest qoute I got was $235????? for a catback...

Marco Muffler said if i bring my own muffler, depending on the piping they have to do it COULD be as low as $150. But it depended on the muffler and what not. So we'll see. Stupid shop rates suck.

i pay 75-85 around here per hour. my shop did it under the table and did header back, dropping out my cat as well. i got 2 cheap turbo mufflers with my 245, flowmasters woulda put me around 350, so your prices arent THAT bad.

Its not that bad. But its costly. Once the MR2 is running ill go ahead and get the catback done, and drop in the header/midpipe/intake.

Whats the stock piping size on a gts from the cat back? I have a leak in my mid pipe that I had welded, but its needs replacing also a huge leak right before the muffler. I'm planning to replace everything from the mid-pipe back with 2.25. I need to know if that would fit right before the mid-pipe.
Going to have a magnaflow muffle+tip.

stock pipe is 1.75''

GT/GTS is the same. Gts just has a dual tip muffler

so If I wanted to changed everything from the mid-pipe out with a 2.25 piping I would have to change from the cat-back? or can I some how get the 1.75 to connect with the 2.25 piping?

Most exhaust shops will be able to build something to accommodate for that .5"
