So in the next 2-3 weeks, I may be picking up a 3SGTE...

would it fit in the back on my hatch?

I think it would probably fit in, minus the transmission, and it would stick out a little?

Or I might just have it shipped back.. but was hoping to save $ :)

it would bang up your interior and probably would need to bungy the hatch. If it will slip in, its going to be a very, very tight squeeze if you still have a back seat

tranny connected, prob not. with out the exhaust/ turbo on, yeah it sure will. put down lots of towels and most def be careful with the hatch. Ive done this before! lol. I unbolted my hatch to do it tho. makes getting it in MUCH easier!

Take the spare out and put it toward the front too.

Yeah, it will fit. I put a 7A-FE and a transmission in the hatch of my 7th gen without even laying the back seats down.

I have a truck.. but I'm not driving it for 12 hours straight to get the engine, and 12 hours back.. plus its old and it would probably die on me somewhere on the trip LOL. But ya, nobody with a truck... buddy has one, but he blew his motor.

Well.. I will see maybe in a week or twos time.. depending if I get it privately or from a dealer I'd have it shipped.. But hmm.. 7th gen hatches kinda open a bit more don't they?

yeah, they do. i put a 3sgte with the head and intake in my 7th gen spare tire well and closed the hatch. i removed the oil pan and flywheel though. in a 5th gen you might need to unbolt the shocks and/or hinges to get it in there.
