My aw11 is crashed. Scion xb pulled right out in front of me. Smashed the whole front of my car.

If anyone knows of any clean mk1 mr2s preferably 1985s for sale in the south let me know. I'm afraid the car will be totaled.

The other driver was cited and obviously at fault. The wreck is no big deal shit happens but what suck is that no matter how clean/perfect my car was it's sill not worth alot. If i had a mk2 I'd be golden.

Man, hate to hear about this. That was a nice car. I'll keep my eyes open around here. I've seen a couple of them lately but they are hard to come by.

Damn, I'm really sorry to hear that man. Your car was a great example of the MKI. I hope they fix or replace it for you. Glad you are ok.

08-09-2009, 07:18 PM
i thought they were toasters (xb)

08-09-2009, 07:35 PM
Sorry to hear about that.

Any carnage pictures?

08-09-2009, 07:53 PM
Toasters work too, but i like to compare them to shoeboxes because at least toasters serve a useful purpose.

67K miles...

Damn that is a beautiful mk1 if I ca. Get enough from the insurance and I get that car I'll send the xb owner a thank you card

That tan interior car is real tempting too

I got the insurance co to tow it to a body shop. It wasn't easy they wanted to total it automaticly everyone I talk to there is a complete dick about it too. One of them actually said "I don't understand why you don't want the car in a salvage yard"

Anyway I'm going to take pics in the morning
Edit; sorry this post looks dumb but I'm using my iPod

What insurance company are you dealing with?

Hipster Lawrence

^^state farm.

here are the pics http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g209/kmlively/Varsity%208-2009/IMG_2029.jpg

Think I can trust these guys with my 2?

08-11-2009, 08:26 PM
wow, poor girl got hammered.
this is why i try and update my car every 2 years with a fresh appraisal. after the initial build it was rated and insured for 8K.

It looks very fixable. The age is the only thing that's going to hurt.

State Farm, at least in my area, is one of the better one's to deal with. A lot of time their just not car people though! Good luck.

why earlier mr2's? i thot the later yrs were better..?

^you mean mk2s? They are faster stock, and they post better autox times but I'm not sure they are better cars. The 3sgte is a bitch to work on and I'm really not feeling n/a mk2s at all. I am considering buying a V6 swapped mk2 though.

If you mean why mk1a over mk1b they are just lighter and I like the look better, I really like the 85 with its black bumpers and unique side vent the best.

There is one at a yard near me, viking and tuner4life. If you need a particular piece, ket us know. I know the whole front looked to be minty fresh.

08-13-2009, 06:52 AM
Yeah it had the wing on it too. Side skirts and all. Rims were there.

Getting 3180 and keeping my car. Pretty good deal.

08-14-2009, 04:47 AM
Nice! I'm glad things are working out for you.

08-14-2009, 11:28 AM
That's great news!

08-21-2009, 02:04 AM
i thot all of them has the passenger side vents? later model has the better taillights and real side skirts.. also tranny was better too i heard.

i thot all of them has the passenger side vents? they did but 85/86 is cooler looking IMO

model has the Different taillights and real side skirts.. also tranny was better too i heard.

This is true although sideskirts were an option starting in 86 but I'm not sure I really like them yet. I'm going to remove the ones off of my 86 and see. I'll Agree the tails look more up to date on the 87+ models but again I'm not sure I like them any better than 85 tails. The transmissions were better after 86 but it's a moot point b/c I'm going 20v. 87+ had better brakes too.

I just like the 85-86 flat front bumper and interior better. Plus my parts car is an 85 so I can use ALL the parts off of it.
