Looks like 166 lb*ft from my BGB for a 93. It's probably the same number for earlier cars as well.

Can anybody give me the torque spec for the ball joint/end link where the rack&pinion mates to the wheel hub? thanks

i just found somehting else. I put the end link back into its spot, put the nut on it finger tight, but when I went to tighten it with the wrech the whole threaded part just spun with the nut. Is something broken inside the ball joint?

Tie rod end nut torque is 36 ft-lbs. The torque for the large nut on the end of the drive shaft is 137 ft-lbs.

If this is the bolt that I'm thinking it is, you need to use an allen key to hold it.

yup. you have to insert an allen wrnce key and then used a open faced wrench to turn it in.
