So I got my hands on a VIS carbon fiber All-trac style hood, I've mentioned that is has issues in other threads, here's the pictures and a detailed list of said issues.

Took me a while to post this, but here's the pictures and the list of flaws with this hood.

So... here's the issues:

Passenger side of the hood isn't straight. Here's the towards the glass:

Here's by the vent (middle of the hood, still straight):

And the part that gets out of whack (by the headlight):

Also, the passenger side corner is not in line with the rest of the body. The corner sticks up a bit:

The front isn't prepped for the trim (no holes, at all):

Also, the vents look like crap:

Washer nozzle holes are not prepped:

I had to cut my hood prop hole because they had taped over the stock one and didn't cut it out when they made the actual hood.

That's a whole lot of suck. I would call them and have them arrange a replacement and return shipping. I only say that since the photos show what could only be manufacturing flaws, although since you cut it, they may well not accept a return. :(

I thought he ordered it new from ViS, hence the comment about manufacturing defects. No offense intended or implied Phil.

I'm not upset or anything with you Phillip, I'm just putting this out there as a PSA. Which, if i had ordered it from VIS or some other retailer, I'd have sent it back or gotten a replacement.

That said, if anyone in my area or going to the Dragon meets has a race All-trac and wants to keep the ATA intercooler but shed 20lbs I'd be willing to trade hoods for $50 bucks.... which will probably never happen.

Wow that's sucks bro. If still call vis about it. On another note do you have any issues like this with the cs hood Mario? Despite the melted vent from when Phil had it?

Absolutely none. Marshall didn't either and it was on his car for a while before mine.
I'm willing to bet this one just made it past QC.

is it true that carbon hood are craking during the winter ?

Not when properly installed.

If the hood is not properly mounted and there is too much stress from flexion in the hinge areas, it can crack.

^^ what he said, too much stress causes it to crack,

but i would recomend that you just keep the carbon hood for show/bright sunny days where you just want to drive and look good. and when you are using it for the daily grime, put your stock hood back on. Cause nothing is worse than seeing your carbn hood that you paid some serious $$$$ get rock chips/change color.
