I think I'm calling it quits on my two Celica's.

My white one, the engine blew.. $221.23CAD to tow it 50KM from where I broke down. It still starts, but won't stay running unless I give it gas. Loud ass knocking noise. ..and the head was gawd damn rebuilt not even 3000KM ago!

This is pissing me off ): Why do you guys all have to be in the States ):

I wanna keep it... but I need a replacement engine.. but the junkers here are gonna rape me... anybody close to BC have something?

Got a warranty on the rebuild? 3000 km's is still within breakin period usually.

I would too but 2-3k for one I just don't know... If it wasn't so damn expensive, I'd go for it..

I'm kinda scrapped for money... I might just find a bottom end, and slap that together with the rebuilt head.. anybody got a bottom?

I would build a short block. Sounds like a rod bearing.

i used to have a 93 gt and had nothing but problems.....Blew the first motor with only 160,000km on it. And then i got a new one and had nothing but problems with it aswell. So i sold it and jus got a new car, problem solved.

I've been thinking of going 3SGTE.. but for now probably just throw together a short block..

Hey Joe, find anything for me? You could like find a new engine for me and trek it down along with my hood :D

Yeah, I thought about going to Vail for the Kumho Challenge this last weekend but had to work on moms Camry (major overhaul: Valve Cover Gaskets, Timing Belt, Drivebelts, Waterpump, Cam Seals, Crank Seal, ETC).

And doing all this on a 1MZ is the suck.

BUT, I'll make some calls, last I checked it was about 1200 for a 5SFE and about 700 for a 3SFE (JDM).

GE or GTE I think would probably be better hopefully it won't be an ass rapeing. I think I will keep my white one and make it the ultimate DD and sell the black one. At this point, I do not need two cars and two motorcycles :)

Weeeee... so I was looking at the car today..... a bolt on the manifold is missing so thats why my car dies when idling. and the oil drain bolt is missing...

when the car died on the highway, I did check it for oil and it had oil.. I didn't see anything on the ground either.

hurrah!~ find me a swap joey :)

So I decided to take apart my parts 5sfe and get the short block tested cause the guy I bought the engine from said it was cracked... should I be concerned about 2 and 3? goopy rust


I haven't touched the engine in the car yet..

Rust = bad. If it's not too bad might be able to get it cleaned up. If not you'll have to do a slight overbore which means you should do overbored pistons and rings.

Its not rusted rusted.. just a small bit of surface? rust.. the majority of it was a couple big goops that was? like rust.

I dunno if I should spend more money on a 5sfe lol.. I should just clean it, hope the short block is fine and slap on my rebuilt head from the blown motor.

while I have a ticking time bomb, you should by then have me a 3sgte :) c'mon c'mon! Good time for you to visit Canada too!

What the fudging hell?! So I decided to take the distributor off the blown motor and the key shaft is broken. Wtf? Why do they all keep breaking? Wtf am I doing wrong? Is it that stupid external O-ring causing problems?
