I got a gen4 3sgte set from ebay. It came with a fwd trans attached. The transmission is pretty much identical to the one came out of my car (93 gt-s). But one thing

I was told it could possibly be a s54 but then wouldn't my axles fit right in it? Im confused :wtf:

I'm leaning towards you got an MR2 clip with a E153 trans attached, pictures of the motor as well?

But yes, an S54 is virtually identical to an S53 (the transmission you have in your 93).

That is not a E153 box from an MR2. The shifter mechanism is on the wrong side. Is the Caldina FWD? Can you link us to the ebay listing? COuld get somegood info form that. or maybe cut and paste the text from the listing?

hrm wtf? Judging by where the shift linkage is its setup for fwd not a Mr2 setup... def not a E153 by looking at the Size of the gear box.

thats not a 205 setup, thats a 2000-2001 FWD Caldina GT-T setup.
the tranny code is E-150F according to:

so seeing how its an e- series if i decided to get a mr2 lsd tranny i could just swap the shift linkage?

^ Why not experiment with that tranny? Are all the mounts the same? The front mount under the rad should work but the other two with a normal e153 will have to be modified... I am wondering how it will fit in there? As far as shifter cables go I was able to use my stock gt shifter cables with my e153 swap... you should have mostly everything but the mounts and axles/Carrier bearing setup finished.. I meen if it came with it why not just use it till it breaks lol????? I meen its stock it should be good but these are all assumptions...

oh i plan i using this tranny. I got lucky they cut the axles so im using my outers with these inners. The mounts are basically all the same i just have to take the driver side tranny mount off my trans and put it on this one and i think i will be good to go. Once i get some more parts together and i start putting the motor in i will start a project thread.

^^ Neato, make sure you make a converstion thread, I am wondering if its the same as with a E153 swap mount wise...

Either move a mount on the cross member, or the ST185 (for 5th gens) cross member.
