View Full Version : A possible way to get BOV?

Ok so I'm a total car noob and just bought my first car which is a 91' GT-S and I was just wondering about some cheap eBay mods
there's THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/Electric-Supercharger-Turbo-TOYOTA-MR2-CELICA-SUPRA_W0QQitemZ330346058528QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_C arsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item4cea28d320&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177&_trkparms=%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50#ht_9907wt_1167 )
which is a electric "supercharger" that plugs into the battery
this seems like a decent mod for 50$
but my question is, would you be able to install a blow off valve with this?

No. Boost is about atmospheric pressure, there's more to it than just adding air. It's a waste of time and money to put a fan in your intake.

On that note, you can't add a BOV if there's no boost to blow off.

it's been proven those fans restrict more air flow then it would without it. can make your car slower haha. dont do it.

Here's the thing about cheap eBay mods: they really only help one person, the guy ripping you off.

Pretty much, these are not Supras, there is no cheap power.

I wants a turboz so i can haz cool noyz

Adding that thing will not only restrict airflow, but when the plastic blades come apart they are going into your engine.

Stay away from the eBay electric supercharger.

you may not be able to use a bov with that ebay turd, but you could use one of these (http://www.turbowhistler.net/)

Don't get those they are too heavy!! the best way to build power is to get a ebay resistor chip!! its like instant nitrous

That's enough children, though this has gotten quite hilarious. Every time one of these threads pops up I think, "Here it comes..." :hehe:

Welcome aboard man, please use the site to learn about your car and what does work. There are some great stickies in the N/A section that cover the basics of how an engine functions, use them to your advantage. Any questions you have feel free to ask!

You can easily detach the exhaust whistler and hear the turbo sound on all your friend's cars!

"I love my Turbo Whistler! Perfect Honda Civic turbo sound. I also tried it on all my friend's cars!"

Funny. I always wanted to hear MY turbo on all my friends' cars. Might just give mine away soon.
