I was wondering what is a good intake and an exhaust for this car. I know that there is a PACESETTER exhaust for it but i want a loud one. Also could anyone recommend me some headers also i just want to add some hp.

This is my car everything stock minus sterio.

That's a 5sfe. An intake and exhaust is going to be mostly for looks and won't give you any real power, just fyi.

Also, OSB for a sub box? MDF wasn't available?

Car looks to be in great shape otherwise. How many miles/kms?

Nice. Looks great! Your stock airbox is actually a bit of a cold air intake, so I would stick with that and you can't do too much with exhaust without it sounding really gay. I would save money and work on wheels and suspension. :) (any REAL power is going to need an engine swap because the 5sfe is a motor built for economy not speed...but there is plenty of info around the site about swaps)

Welcome to the forums.

Well, there is the very powerful -- and exceptionally well-done -- 5SFTE Pressure2 has running around, but that's a master work akin to getting a 3SGTE into the 700 HP range.

As pertaining to your exhaust question, I have had three systems on mine so far, and yes it is hard to find a good sounding exhaust. The best thing i have had on it so far has been 2 3/4 inch pipe from my manifold back with a warlock muffler, which are a little difficult to find nowadays. but you should be able to get one somewhere on the internet. The thing i like about this exhaust is that the muffler has all of the quietness of a turbo style muffler, but also has a cutout built in which alows a straight through stream, and is loud, but not to ricey. ill try to find a link on that muffler and post it if youd like.

Clean car and welcome to the boards!

A loud exhaust will simply be an eBay header with no cat and a fart can.

They sound horrible. I personally do not like the way the 5SFE sounds with any exhaust except for bone stock.

To each his own.

I always wanted a car like yours. Makes me miss my fifth gen.

Eh, leave it alone, an exhaust wont get you anything but sounding stupid. Thats a clean car. If you want to look cool, lower it and put rims on it. Its not fast and if you put a loud exhaust on, every time you race someone its going to sound like your car is about to explode and they are gonna smoke you with little effort, makes your car look worse. My 2cent.

Just say no to loud cars with no power. Leave the exhaust alone, I beg you.

There's a kid on my street who drives a Paseo with a loud exhaust on it. It's really sad. Sounds terrible too. I shake my head a lot whenever I hear him drive by.

Nice car man!! That thing is clean!!

Please whatever you do, dont rice it up!! Keep the body clean and just do tasteful mods to it like suspension, nice rims and a mellow exhaust. The exhaust on mine is annoyingly loud right now and it is not any faster because of it.

Nice car! The miles are good and the interior looks really good too!

Like the other's have said, spend your money on wheels and suspension mods. All the loud exhaust is going to do is attract unwanted attention from the law, especially with a red car. As good as that thing looks stock, so nice tires and wheels are really going to set it off!

simple and cost of only a muffler... get a magnaflow.. not sure which one i got since i got it on the free :D but i cut off the stock one and welded this one in and it doesnt make it "loud" but gives it a deeper tone that lets you know it is running... not loud at all at idle and not rice by any means.. everyone has there own tastes hell you may like the fart cans the size of foldgers coffe cans.. who knows.

Ok celliboy heres a link for the warlock muffler at street side auto. And if you read on there, they price match. So if you find it cheaper they will match it.

I actually ran across one of those once. Early 1980s Prelude, absolute rustbucket. Owner clearly had a sense of humour though, had duct-taped a coffee can onto his tailpipe, and just to make sure nobody missed it he painted the can bright yellow.

I wanted to shake his hand.

Hey celliboy, yah, thats the right one. You can get that and take it down to ur local muffler shop and get em to make any size exhaust u want. In my oppinion i wouldnt go with anything bigger than 2 3/4 mandrel bent piping.

So if i go with a 2 3/4 pipe is that all the way from the manifold?? And do you know what the price range for that at a shop will be? Thanks

Clean looking Celica. Reminds me of how mine started out.

Coming from the other side of things, watch out for that loud exhaust. It really does attract attention. We have a kid who runs around town with one and he's usually the one we go after for speed... because he's so damn easy to find. We know when he's gunning it, we can hear him across town.

Sounds like a good plan. You should be able to find a happy medium. :)
