Do it. Crank may just need to be ground. I had a budget of $700 for my car when i first bought it. I bought the celi for $400 and rebuilt the motor within that budget. Including regrinding the crank. Almost 40,000 miles later and still running strong.
Keep in mind I did all the work ,excluding the crank regrinding of course.

That car has been posted several times over the last year.

Not to plug my own car, but, uh, to plug Mudhoney...

If you are looking to build something, I stand behind her and can vouch for her condition without... bias.

I don't care if she sells, but if she goes, I would like her to go to a home that would be good to her.

Link in sig.

Grot

Theres only like a 25 hp difference

Murgatroy
07-09-2009, 03:16 AM
I think it is closer to 10HP honestly.

I believe the 3SFE is rated at 115, and the 3SGE is rated at 125.

Either way, like I said, I don't want to sell her, but she would like a new home since I am currently unable to give her any attention.

get mudhoney. it's a good starting platform with a good body and known history. something you can't get elsewhere.

I think you can do much better than that car.

Murg's car is in good shape except for the engine. Worth what he's asking.

CollapsedNut

Well Ive tried the numbers listed and email the guy with no responce. Im going to have to look into the differance in the 3sge and 3sfe to see if its something I want.

Mafix

just take the fe out and drop in a g series. it's very simple.

CollapsedNut
07-10-2009, 08:32 PM
is the only differance the head? i cant remember if FE is the block or the head

Murgatroy
07-10-2009, 08:50 PM
Head.

FE is narrow valve angle and slave cam.

However, a Rev 1 5SFE drops right in once you change the intake manifold...

hum. ok. I'll have to consider. I donno if a swap is what I want to do or not. This should probably be in a PM but are you open to trade for say a popup camper in need of work?

Murgatroy
07-10-2009, 09:02 PM
I have no way to haul it, or store it.

Plus the wife would skin me.

Right now the only thing I think I could be open to trade on would be a set of coilovers for Chaos, but I holding off on those till next year before the Dragon.

You can take it to the Mudhoney for sale thread if you would like.

I spy a fartcan on the craigslist car. I have a feeling t-vis wasn't closed much on that one. Chances are it's been beat on...a lot...then polished up for some pics.
