Has anyone tried the 4-2-1 Mimousa header? If so, how was the fit? The flange looks rather large. And how was the performance?

Second Question: I'm getting ready to build another motor and want to put the o/s valves from 3sgte in my 5sf head. The question is does the 5s head valve seats need to be replaced or can the stock seat be opened up sufficiently for this valve?

3s valves wont work, use the supra valves, they are 1mm OS for the 5s.
i'd love to see someone build a REAL header, with REAL collectors to make a true 4-2-1 header for a 5s.
of course, just the collectors would cost ~450$ :lolhittin

http://www.burnsstainless.com/MergeCollectors/2into1base/2into1base.html

3 of those, plus a manifold flange, and a flange for the b-pipe, plus the pipe for the header itself.

and people wonder why no-one makes a header for our cars that isnt junk.

if someone was willing to pay for it, and bring a car to me, i'd do the welding work for next to nothing just to see what the gains could actually be.

Depends of the revision of 5sfe you have. Rev1 5sfe's can use 3sgte valves for +1mm and rev2s can use 2jz valves for +1mm. No need for new seats for +1mm, there is just enough material to grind them. The valve springs are also usable on the 5sfe. Use 3sgte springs for a rev1 and 2jz for a rev2.

Yeah as Presure2 said, there aren't too many good headers out there for a 5sfe. What are the dimentions of the Mimousa? Primary and secondary length and primary diameter?

Hotshot made one for the Camry, was US$450 for 4-2, 2-1, and the front pipe with flex section.

Ok from what I have heard from most of you, "hook" and "gray", the o/s 3sgte valves will work in the 5s, I have a 90 for rebuild so thats a rev 1. Check out this site, autoaccessorystore.com click on headers and toyota. They have a stainless 4-2-1 header for 90-93 gt.

Hurricane makes one, but they don't list prices online. Any aussie members want to try to get a price?

Actually, looking at the options in the pulldown tab for that item, the 4-2-1 are available for the ST (90-93 and 94-99), while it's 4-1 for the GT in the 90-93 versions. The 94-99 GT shows 4-1, as does the 00-05.

Sorry to thread jack, but that hurricane one Should fit a 3sge right?

EDIT: under "engine number" on hurricanes page it says 3s/5s

Wonder if this has the same starter issue the others have?

Or you could get a 3S-GE header, they have a 4-2 pipe then a 2-1 pipe

Wow, you may have something here Grot. Since it leans to the left side of the car that header would be more dangerous to my starter. It may very well clear yours.
