Hey this doesn't have to do with a celica but its kinda universal i'm asuming.

My younger brother has an 03 Galant ES 2.4L same engine as in the eclipse.

He's had the COLDEST A/C in the world until recently it just started blowing hot air. When lifting the hood when the car starts up in the first minute or so you hear a loud clunking sound coming from the serpentine belts and pullys... I was thinking maybe it has a loose pully.. but the sound then goes away and only comes back randomly every so often.

Anyways When turning on the a/c there is a loud hissing sound like if you take a bearing and spin it REAL fast. All the lines look perfect, no leaks, or any issues like that.

Do you think this could be a bad compressor, or the clutch bearing has gone? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Compressors go out every once and a while. If it was blowing cold air one day and completely hot the next, and wasn't gradual deterioration, I'd bet the compressor. Only other thing I could think of would be a major leak. Usually all the other components cause a gradual loss in cooling.
