Well.. I won't post this anywhere else yet but we are looking at the second week in November before the holidays. That would be Nov' 7.

Now, that date is 95% set.. nothing much can move us from it.

The only issue we have right now is our location as we're trying for a number of them and also trying to get additional funds by getting more dealerships onboard to pledge to us as we have KPS. We'll know here in a few weeks, if it goes as high as we hope we have inquiries in with places like GIR, North FL Shipyard, MetroPark downtown, etc. Basically we are looking for a place that would actually lend itself open to some drifting as we've spoken with Velocity Trends which we might sponsor at the show so they can come out and put on a bit of a show.

We have a few other ideas as well, and we're planning a pre-meet the night before which might feature roll-in photo's a'la warehouse style ;) Major preparty.

I'll keep ya posted.

EDIT: oh ya.. an I personally would like to do a Toys4Tots drive as our entry fee.. since its still free really, I think a toy to enter would be awesome but I'm getting a lot of resistance for that idea. Might be something we do at the pre-meet the night before.

Yea I'm really anxious for this meet to happen. My Celica is finally ready this year. It's always the best local Toyota meet of the year. So if it was tomorrow I would be ready.

any updates?

Trance4c
09-04-2009, 01:41 PM
I've heard some things, infact I was called yesterday by two individuals with an update but I'm a bit on the backburner right now. I'm closing on my first home here in 9 days so that has been my personal focus right now, but everything is shaping up for another awesome year!! I've very impressed, so far every year just steps it up a notch.

Right now, I can't say much, there are a few surprises in store but I wouldn't want to burst the bubble before the event nor say before its concrete.

I'll be there for the 5th time. :)

Keep us up on details, Clay. Hope the closing process goes quick and smoothly for you. You picked the best time.

Thanks Tyler, can't wait.. trust me! Gunna put down a sealed garage floor, then the Celi' is going up on blocks. Loads of new stuff just been sitting and waiting; all new suspension, brakes and exhaust. Just haven't ever had the room or time, so now that I'll be in a permanent situation I'll be able to take care of those things on my own. I'll wait until after SR5 this year, but thats the plan.

I'm sorry, I had to edit it above.. I realized I had the wrong weekend listed and it has been some time since I updated this.

We're still going for Nov' 7th, that is the target date.

yay ill have enough time to get the 6th gen and the truck done.

im gonna hold off on the oct dragon possibly and just do this instead, i dont think the clutch in the 6th gen can take the dragon.

the truck i just gotta get the head resurfaced and new valve stem seals installed. then the motor is ready to plop in after reassembly.

the stx, needs a bunch of semi little stuff, cv axles, paint, clutch job, 1 tire, hood latch support.

ill probally have all of it done cept the clutch by then, for now the clutch grips fine as long as i dont constantly rag it out.

atm the 3rd gen will be done using half of my tax return next year.

ConGrats on life as the happy home owner. The garage sounds really nice. Is there going to be a house warming party to kick off the new place? I vote yes. So when will the closing be? We need a mini local Celica Meet=House warming party. Since we haven't had one in years.

Trance4c
09-05-2009, 06:36 PM
Joe, ya I'm only hitting the spring dragon runs, I won't be trying to make the October. Sounds like a lot of projects, 3rd gen still your primary?

Mike, thanks, I dunno if I'll be having any house warming parties, everyone keeps asking so I'm thinking it will have to be once we're settled in a bit. we're just trying to get through this fall; moving, Cindy's graduating from UNF, trying to figure out our wedding, and my parents coming to town. But I think we're gunna have to do something! :bigthumbu

I would have to F*N kill you Joe. BTW I call dibs if you EVER sell it. I've got a low miles 22RE that could make the jump from the GT into the GTS no prob.
I think I might try to make this. I'll be done coaching soccer by then and maybe we can get the other guys in Mobtown to come too.

Sibling Rivalry 5 was great fun. Cool cars, free food and great people. Make this event so much fun.

It was good to see The Captain and Princess again. I also seen a lot of people I hadn't seen in quite some time. Got to talk to them and check out what they been up to with their cars. Matt who has the MK3 Supra and won 3rd place best Toyota. It's really funny cause I had to talk him into going over to the final judging. Then he almost missed getting his trophy. Because he was heading to the bathrooms. As they were calling his name. He took me for a ride in it after the meet. Definitely the fastest car I've ever been in. It's probably a 11 sec. car.

The Captain, Clayton, and me. Had probably the best parking spot. For the whole show. With a crowd gathering around Princess the whole time. I was glad to see John got 1st place Celiica. His car is definitely worthy.

Thanks to Clayton and his wife and all the rest who make Sibling Rivalry so great. Can't wait till next year. This event is really becoming one of the premier events in Florida. Can't wait to see what they have in store for the future.

Nice shots, Mike. This meet really was a blast. I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of show cars and was bouncing from car to car to check out details the whole time. Friendly, fun, and knowledgable crowd too, which really makes the meet. Great location and time of year too. Definitely one of my favorite meets.

EDIT: Mike, you need some red or black intake couplings.

The left, the red `Rolla, I like it, it is nice.

The grey wagon is the one I am talking about. They are saying on the site that it won the best Toyota?

It is a lowered `Rolla wagon with nothing done to it beyond a header and pink stickers. I saw some wicked cars there, Supras and the like, not to mention the three members we had there that had twice the car, or more.

Trance4c
12-22-2009, 11:08 PM
We gave out like 52 trophies or something. After all the classes, Celica, MR2, Supra, Corolla, XD/XA, TC, XB (I think even more). All the major cars your seeing took home something, your talking out of 160 maybe, just nearly 1 out of every 3 took home something. We needed more people to show up, on time. Nearly 30 cars didn't get voted on, and the sponsor cars from Titan aren't up for an award. Also, all judges cars or src members don't have their cars voted or award a trophy either. I don't think we will be doing class breakdowns as we did this year in the future, but it was all good.
