View Full Version : Opinions on this 7th Gen

I'm shopping around for another celica and i came across this 7th Gen. It doesn't look all that bad to me and it has some pretty good mods on it as well. I just contacted the dude who is selling it and worked out a deal for 6K.

What do you guys think?

As i thought the link doesn't work so let me list the mods that it has

-OBX short shifter w/ TWM weighted shift knob
-Injen Cold Air Intake
-PPE Race Header
-Magnaflow cat-back exhaust
-Camcon CC-101 Controller
-Bronze GTS wheels with red lugs
-Tein S-Tech lowering Springs
-M2 front lip, R2 sideskirts, RMM rear valence

that's pretty much it. for 6k i think its good

sounds good to me. I would still run a carfax report on it to see the history, but it sounds nice.

yeah sounds a little cheap for the mileage and stuff on it... i had an 03 bone stock with 70k miles worth over 10k

06-18-2009, 02:45 AM
yeah i'm still a little iffy about it. he is supposed to e-mail me some more pictures of the car so if it looks great then its a go

I'm honestly not very impressed with the 7th gens.

Great cars and all, but they don't seem as reliable as many other Toyotas out there. Especially the older ones.

I would say $5,000 would be a good price for that car.

I have seen clean GT-S six speeds go for about that, sometimes even less. But the $6,000 had well less than 100,000 miles.

Seems like a good deal.

i drove a 7th gen gt for awhile, isn't exactly that impressive. They look fast and all and, imo, they have great body lines, but the tiny engine doesn't do much more then pull you where you need to go. My seats were cumfy as hell tho. And the gas gauge is digital wewt wewt, other than that not worth much more then a daily driver for gas mileage. Just my opinion though sirrrr.

yeah the toyota integra wasnt all that and couldnt take no where near as much abuse as previous gen celicas and cost to much. which ive been saying for years.

honestly id take a 99 gt over a 00+ one

honestly id take a 99 gt over a 00+ one
I'm with ya on that.

Well its pretty much just going to be used for a daily driver and not for performance. I'm just in the market for another Celica and i just happen to come across this one. But the guy still hasn't sent me any more of the pics yet. when he does i'll see if i could post them up that way you get a better idea of what it looks like

ok peeps i have some pictures of the car but they are all too huge to upload them. Now the car has 150k miles on the body and 60K on the other engine and we settled with a price of 5,800.

I don't know what kind of reliability problems you guys are talking about.. my GT-S has been a tank. I haven't had any problems outside of normal wear items and what I caused directly (miss-shift).

I rev it to 8400rpms daily, have around 200 drag strip passes, several autocross events, and has over 130k miles now. I change the oil and put gas in it. Oh, I did the brake pads too. I get over 30mpg still with two bad o2 sensors.

maybe u got a friday car

look at problems of previous gen celica vs 7th gen celica, it just seem like your cant beat the snot of of either 1zz or 2zz like you could previos gens.

5800 dollars for a 00 with 150k? seems a lil much , personally id get a 99 gt and save some dough or a manual v6 tiburon or a 01 impreza 2.5 rs or.....

06-24-2009, 01:14 AM
yeah i would love to get a 2.5 RS impreza any day the only problem with that is the car isnt really for me its for my dad since he wants another car that is decent looking enough to be a daily driver. Otherwise i would skip out on this and get a WRX

06-24-2009, 04:39 AM
ah i c

the only other downside is lack of low end, most jap engine that make good low and mid range torque live longer than the ones that rev up to hell and back

my gts tooling around town usally dont have to go past half throttle and usally gets up to 2500-3k then i shift.

i miss that
