after returning from the chino hills celica meet, i was looking through my pictures in my digi cam and stumbled across this celica. notice its got these extra braces running from the strut towers to the rad bar.

i thought these bars were neat has heck so i started with a similar idea but with the 5th gen. these are some designs i came up with. any opinion on the designs? which ones look better? any type of input would help. thanks.

I'm pretty sure. I can't see the pics right now, but you just described the Cusco triangle brace to a T.

Give me a few minutes, i'll grab a link if i can find it again.

seems like first two braces are for the rear and the very last link is for the underbody carrage.

Yeh.

First one is front. Second is rear. Third is an underbody that i threw in for shits and giggles.

I'll double check my jdm parts list when I get home tonight. I think I have those part numbers.

So what would actually be the point of this, looks?

The undercarriage is already braced N,S,E,W as are the strut towers E,W. (front)
So what more would one hope to gain? The front section of the car is already thickest by comparison, as that is where the main weight of the car sits. (engine)

Just curious. Feel free to enlighten me...

I wouldn't want those things across my engine bay,

your first design looks the neatest, but id probably go for the 2nd one for the extra rigidity, the 3rd is overkill...

Mario- I'd guess looks for the most part. Though I could see it tightening things up a little bit in the corners of the engine bay; Keeping corners square. On the other hand perhaps everything IS buttoned down as much as possible already with said bracing.

Engine bays covered in a spider web of braces....

Yep I'd also agree to that. :D
