High mileage with another high mileage motor dropped in.
Mostly bells and whistles, no real performance mods. However, body appears to be in very good shape and well taken care of.

Personally, I would start at $1,000 and see what his reaction is. You have nothing to lose b/c all he asked for was offers - he's just testing the waters.
Guys like this are just hoping someone that 1 in 1,000 person will desperately want it and give him huge bucks. I think my max would be around $2,000, maybe a tad more, for a car of this vintage.

$4,000 is way too much. He's just fishing for a sucker. Owners like that tend to overvalue their cars.

i am going to take a look at it on monday, the guy told me more about the car: ebiach sportline lowering kit, monroe premium gas filled struts, new rad on it a month a go and a new water outlet, heat gauge temp sensor, new PCV valve, body and paint was done 2 summers ago the whole car is dinamatted.

i think it will be a nice car to have for the summer! i dont like the rims but i can always change them!

The car does look good and has some good parts on it but $4K is way too much money. If he's serious about selling it, he's going to have to come down a good bit. I'm with the others, around $2000 would be reasonable.

Wow, that is the exact spoiler I want. I never really saw how it looked on a 5th gen hatch, but it is about what I expected.

Don't pay more then 2k for that car.
