View Full Version : Anyone in Reno/Carson City Area?

If anyone lives in the area I was wondering if someone could take a look at a car for me. Pretty much a done deal but can't get temp plates in Navada (I don't think) so we'd have to buy and register the car in Maine before we fly out to get it. He says we'll pitch you some $$ for your troubles.

Please email me instead of PM travelchute AT yahoo DOT com

Greatly appreciated!

Kristin

Reno is about 45 mins from me, but I don't have a day off for another 4 days

It doesn't need to be in the next 4 days. The car is in Carson City. Let me know if this is doable for you.

Thanks

Long time no see by the way!! Good to see you're still lurking. I just heard from 91yota. He was at Rally New York and recognized me. Didn't recognize the last name Przybysz tho!

If you had posted this last week, I was there from Tuesday to Friday... With plenty of free time.

Carson is about 2hrs (99mi) from here, any chance of a midway point? :hehe:

No idea. We don't know the guy. If no one else is closer then we'll have to come up with plan B.

There is no Plan B!

There's always plan B.

Rallyk, I think I may have found somone who lives right in Reno on the MR-2 forums.
Has a good rating and he donates to the boards, so I'd say he's probably a pretty up and up guy.

heard back from the seller, got a vin, ran a carfax.
Working with someone in Reno to take a look at it and take it out for a spin (not literally I hope)
*and* look for anything suspicious.

I'm slightly suspect that the odometer may have been tampered with, the carfax reports 66k in 93, 198k in 99. seems like high gains for the time period, but doable- there are no reports since then, because its over 10 years old and no longer required, and the odometer reads about 150k now. (which looking at the average miles from 85 to 93, keeping pace, 150k would be right on track)
-supposedly if someone screws with that, they can make it legal by having a sticker on the drivers door with the difference.

that and you're usually not on aim, and nothing I have to say I classify as important enough to make a call ;)
