View Full Version : Things to fix my spolier

03-31-2009, 09:46 PM
My spolier is coming off. Whatever holds it on in the middle and right side is gone so it just sits on the trunk. I asked toyota today for the parts and its was not bad. Dose anyone know if there is anywhere els i can get the parts to fix it?

Generally it's the little clips on the ends of the wing that start to fail. Get replacement clips. Done.

I took it to mean that the riser sections were completely gone?

All of the pieces are completly gone. The only thing holding it on is the left side and everything is on, on that side. I got the parts form toyota and they are coming in the mail tommorrow. I had to get new bolts and all, also some retainer pieces

Glad you got it worked out.

If you wouldn't mind posting the Part Numbers for others' future reference, it would be appreciated. :)

sorry shadow, the riser sections are still there. The things missing are the bolts and nuts. The retainer pieces are also gone. The spolier is in one piece still. It is just not connected to the trunk in some areas

I fixed it today. The parts I ordered were wrong. I did not order them right. I'm not sure what i got but i know they were not right. What my dad and I ended up doing is taking some bolts and washers and just putting em in the holes where there used to be something. It works and it will not go anywhere.

Ok, so here is what we did.
The two holes are where whatever held them in the first time where.
This is the center one
We stuck two or three washers on each nut, then just screwed them in to place. The two on the right side where hard to get into.
The washers would not fit through the lil hole so we cut a small slash in each one to fit them in.

04-08-2009, 04:23 AM
I'm going to. Will it matter if they are opened? I still got the recite and all.

04-08-2009, 04:24 AM
I should think not.

04-08-2009, 03:57 PM
Alright, thanks.

04-08-2009, 04:00 PM
Give them a call and find out before you send it off. I wouldn't tell them the mistake was yours though, I'd just simply say they were the wrong parts.

04-08-2009, 10:23 PM
Right, ill call them in a few days. Ill post what they say about it for future reference.
