I am so happy to announce that this past Friday, I picked up my fresh off the boat ST205 WRC from Sean at Zen Autoworks (http://www.zenautoworks.ca)!

So far, I have only driven for 20 minutes or so. We have to still get the registration and out of province inspection completed.

Initial Impressions:

Car feels very well planted and has a very smooth power curve. Has a very smooth idle. Much less road noise than the ST165. Oh yeah, and drop dead sexy!! Pictures absolutely do not do these cars justice.

The car is extremely clean inside and out.

A quick shot of my garage... :D :D :D

Here are some pics from Japan. I will have some new pics from here this weekend...hopefully the weather cooperates!

I appreciate your monkey Clayton. :luvy:

Dragon is too far away...3 days of driving or so each way!

I will be going to the Western Canada / Pac NW Celi & Deli Meet Vernon BC (http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40540) in August with it tho. 2 other ST205's will be there too. (Sean@ZenAuto and WALKER.)

Very nice. We got to drop those front spats and get you the oem Euro lip instead.

I have also been meaning to start a section on here and at.net for those in US and canada that have st205 engines. We need to work together to find the best sources for oem parts. I am wondering if the Canadian toyota dealers will start carrying these bits or even listing them in the EPC.

very nice! you can find oem parts at your local toyota dealer...thats where i ordered all of my parts for my 3s, t-belt, all new gaskets, and they also carry a lot of other parts as well

cms-gt4

What do you mean you can find the parts at the dealer? Most of the 205 part numbers I take to my dealer don't come up in their system.

ChrisD
03-31-2009, 05:53 PM
Thanks guys. :)

I'm not a fan of that euro lip, to each his own...I do quite like the current set up.

A few minor issues I have to sort...I am getting a bit of fender rub on corners, especially when the car is weighted with passengers. Pretty sure it's the wheel spacers at fault (combined with a marginally larger tire size than stock). Ho hum...will have to do something there, although it looks oh so good with the tires flush to the fenders!

Alyth Autobody in Calgary should be able to sort you out. They rol fenders on drag cars all the time ..... the way the car sits now, it would be a shame to stick the rims back under the fenders.

This one does look 10X better in person than in photos. It's a bit of a masterpiece.

There's no lip to roll on the front though....not sure if there's anything that can be done on the fronts, short of a narrower spacer?

Funny enough I realized I ride my bike right past Alyth every day.

Funny enough I realized I ride my bike right past Alyth every day.

The fender roller can push the fenders out a few mm. I did my fronts just for the sake of having extra clearance even though there was no rubbing.

Just make sure you take off the fender liner when you do it.

That might be the only car on here pretty enough to compete with GT4RCDude for best looking GT4.

Thanks so much guys. :) I really have to thank Sean @ Zen Auto for sourcing the group of ~6 amazing ST205's many months ago prior to them becoming legal in Canada - today the pickings are getting much more slim.

Side note: I bought my ST165 from Sean way back in 2001 too.

What rims are those? Those are the EXACT ones i'm looking for my car.

18" Kosei's. I haven't determined what model yet. They are 18x7 with a +35mm offset. Runs a 10mm spacer in the front, haven't measured the rear spacers.

Just got done with stage 1 and 2 of prettying it up, paint cleaner done a few nights ago, sealing and glazing tonight, will be doing the wax tomorrow.

I should get some high quality shots on the weekend if the weather plays nice. We're still dealing with some light snow some days...makes the roads all gross.

Will be looking into rolling the fenders. Thanks for the tips. I definitely don't want to change the stance if I don't have to...it's just too nice the way it is.

Here's a pic to tide everyone over to the weekend. It's the group of 205's back in Japan. (so far, 3 of those have landed in Calgary)

Definitely a beaut. We used to think that the pictures didn't really show off the car very well, but I think we all did a great job of capturing its look this time.

And she's got some serious balls, too. Chris made a quick acceleration to pass someone, which seemed like a cup of coffee for the car, and in his words, "I had no choice."

Not only is that a good line to tell the cops when you get pulled over for speeding, but it's always a good problem to have with your vehicle. :D

GORGEOUS. Iconic. A rare beauty.

In 15 years or less, I bet you'll see these cars going on the auction block for many times MSRP.

Or not, because they are not that well known. Which is all the better, 'cause we'd just snap them up!

Hard to say I guess? There is still a market for the cars in japan which is what is keeping the price up so far. They are actually becoming pretty hard to find in Japan too, especially in top grade condition. WRC's will be really tough to find since they were only produced in '94.

Chris ,
well 5 years later and you beat me to it .. Sadly almost 5 years from
bringing home from Calgary .Car still is not done but should finally be
done this summer ..buying a wrecked one was cheaper but a whole
lot more pain in ass to get back to 100% new..parts from worldwide
and sucks being so damn anal about details

BTW you know you love the shag car-mats !!

ST205 parts in US ... i ordered my entire front end(hood, bumper, projectors,
and heck even oem riser blocks from local dealer) but i had to give chassis
number ..and this was 5 years ago so not sure now plus my parts guy
is on celicatech and alltrac.net and went extra mile to help me out.

someday hope to meet up with some of the st205 canada owners as
the 5 or 6 of us down in US would be impossible to get together..

this picture was from 2 weeks ago
and even after sitting for 4 years in same spot jdm tires still full

Sean - you should totally come to the Vernon BC meet this year in August! It's going to be a really good one. Looks like we'll have those 3 205's, maybe another...I think I'll be bringing both Celica's.

It's a shame that car isn't on the road yet. :( That car made me fall in love with 205's...even though it was a tad smashed up front. I wonder if I can find those pics in the warehouse...

95wrc
04-23-2009, 01:35 PM
Yeah i would be coming up if done ..

I have all the parts ready to go and even a entire st205 front
rad support.
My body guy has been distracted with other things sadly over
last few years and still have 2 other all tracs in front of
mine getting fixed .Looks like a meet at shop as he has a one
as well so 4 gt-fours in one spot.

I recommend 98 dash trim as it breaks up sea of black in interior and
i also went with 98 wheel and knob.Guy i know sells 98 wheels w/o
airbag as he just pulls from cover to make easier and cheaper to ship
from japan.
