my rear main seal started leaking 3 weeks ago so i ordered a seal it took 3 wks to get which was very weird. so while waiting for the seal i kept driving my car not by choice. filling oil every day to keep it safe. Not knowing my sister takes off in my car comes back parks it and i didnt know so i started up the car and i heard every metal to metal noise on the engine. Long story short im rebuilding my block with new pistons, oil pump, rings, rod and crank bearings, and maybe a turbo. I got everything for 200.09 quite reasonable i say.I would like to have it done before the dragon meet. i am trying to go.

Any tips on rebuilding a 4afe precautions and such.

are you turboing your 4afe?

Looks that way.

Will be an interesting outcome. Cool idea.

The 4afe is pretty simple when rebuilding to be honest. It was cakework compared to my 5s. Uhm, nothing really to watch out for id say, just make sure you torque everything to spec on reassembly

what kind turbo is that?

the turbo is a warner-ishi turbo, its tiny i think its a mitsubishi eclipse. I figured it would be sufficient for a 4afe since its redline is 6200 and im not pushing for high numbers. already mounted my I/C and found a turbo map (gen 1) from a 3sgte that works. I already tried it on the car and it runs fine, also got a apr from a gsr and it bolts right up. im still waiting on a fmu and a civic half cut radiator.

Well you should get the block done by a reputable shop. Only they have the necessary tools to do the rebuild properly and make sure all the clearances are right. Other than that you should be able to do everything yourself.

If you turbo it your gonna have to find a way to pass CA smog as well.

the car is auto until the tranny blows but its a 7afe tranny, car is smogged for the next 2 years. I would love to have a black top 4age or any ge motor but the issue is money and me attending college its harder to do things but the build is costing me 250.
so the 4age is on my christmas list.
