I have these sitting in my closet... not sure why I have these, or what they're for, anyone know?

Those have to be some sort of mounting brackets for accessories. Like AC, Power Steering etc to mount said devices to the block. Which ones specifically I couldn't tell you.

Hrm... I wonder if I pulled them at the same time as I pulled my GTS exhaust... that could do it...

The odd part is, they were in the same box as my rear brake calipers...

It doesn't look to me to be any of the above. The closet part I can match to the pic would be the steering knuckles....but I don't think its that either.

EDIT: I meant lower arm shafts, not knuckles.

It could also be that they aren't from a 91 GT.....right? Or are 91 GT parts the only conceivable parts that could be lying around?

Well, they're different shapes and what not... so not steering parts, I'd imagine...

my guess would be rear ( not sure what they are called but) the part the strut mounts to.

I don't think it mounts to the strut. The only chunky piece of hardware that mates up with the strut is the axel carrier and then from the there the hub mounts to that. Maybe is is engine accessory related, but these pics don't match anything I've seen that secures an accessory to the block or head.

Well, it could be from a 4th gen exhaust, unlikely though, because they were in the box with my rear disc calipers...

So yeah... I'm at a loss for what they're for. Going to look over my BGB for the rears and see if they match up to anything in there...

Def not a 4th Gen exhaust.....at least I'm 99% sure

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I left the support bracing attached to the exhaust. I just can't remember those parts coming off when I was pulling the brake parts I needed off the donor cars.

Those are the brackets for the exhaust downpipe. No doubt about it.

If those are exhaust brackets, they didn't come off a 4th gen lol

I'm confused. I just looked at a pick of both a 4th and 5th Gen dp and found no such brackets......though I will say I like that answer the best so far.

Would they be the ones for a 3S-GTE? That could be the case, not sure why they'd end up with my brake calipers though...

yup, not familiar with other engines, but those are definitely ones that come on a 3sgte.

Yeah I have those brackets laying around in a box somewhere. They are the downpipe brackets.

Well, glad to get that out of the way... I won't be needing them for a while yet... probably longer since I don't have the stock DP anymore...

i just had the same brackets removed from my original downpipe when i installed my 3" downpipe.
