Found some clear bumper lights on ebay that match the jdm clear corners really well- clear bumpers (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-93-Toyota-Celica-Clear-Bumper-Signal-Lights-DEPO-91_W0QQitemZ160309318323QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_ Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item160309318323&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1171|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18)

Yup those are awesome. Probably can't tell from the picture, but that's the combo I have. Better than the "diamond-cut" style.

I like my
JDM orange ones. I only say JDM cuz they came from Japan with my bumper

I have those same exact ones, they don't match perfectly they are more chrome looking while the ldm corners are a little more smoked. Its not too far off but i am kinda picky with this sort of thing

Just for reference:

Same checkered style lens.

They used to be $30, but have gone up since I went to the site last. Thought I'd post this in case ebay stops selling this style. Matrix racing has carried these for years.

Yeah I told Matrix they were off there rockers. They wanted $12 for shipping on top of the $40 for the lights. Paid $26.90 on fleabay as opposed to $52. Although, that guy was the only one on ebay I found selling them and when I bought mine the listing said he only had 4 left, so who knows.

I have these as well, they are brighter in appearance during the day (in comparison to the JDM corner markers) without the lights on. One thought I had was get a high gloss black and take apart the lens and spray the interior of it, so that it should acquire the correct coloring. Since the JDM lens is dark plastic, not shiny silver behind it. I'm also running the amber bulb so as to not draw undue attention to myself.

Got the lights, see what you mean, still better than the rest. I think I may pull them apart too, but I might use nightshades on it, it should help retain some reflectivity and give the smokey appearance.

I'd do one quick spray... I'm half thinking of getting some light window tint and sticking that on there, if it looks ugly, yank it off

If you do try pulling them apart, let me know easy it is, I'm still thinking the Gloss black or maybe just gray on the inside would match them up to the JDM ones.

Cannon, the VHT Nightshades is a great product. You can go as light (or dark) as you please.
Instructions say to do 3 coats, but I found that for myself, 2 coats were dark enough.

Marshall, wouldn't using a tint film on the outside of the lens still be reflective? (the outside, I mean)

Ah, but we aren't blacking out, we're trying to match the JDM corner light's look. I'd show you what we're talking about, but my car is some 2000 miles away at the moment :lolhittin

Aren't the jdm corner lights stippled with little black "dots" on the inside to give them that look?
Sorry for my ignorance, but I have never seen a set in person.

Yeah, it is great, I used it on the tail lights of another 5thgen I owned.

I'm not 100% sure what gives them the smokey look, I was thinking because the backing on the inside was black, but idk. I don't want to open them up to find out either  Either way, our objective is to give the bumper lights the same semi-smoke look. You can see in the pic below how clear and bright the bumper lights appear.

I'm leaning more towards spraying the inside of the turn signals with a glossy black, because the more I think on it, the actual lens on the JDM corner is clear, there's just no real light coming back through it. Unlike with the turn signal, there's all the nice reflective silver surface kicking light back through it.

Forgot this earlier. Yeah, when I pulled them out of the box the frist thing I did was try to pop one open. Seems the lense is just held on by the tabs, no glue, so it should be pretty easy.

Sounds like a plan then. You spray the silver with gloss black and I'll spray the silver with nightshades. Then we can do a silly write up! :lupi:

Oh well shit, going to un-silicone mine and spray them. Need to go spend 5 bucks on some high gloss black.

I was thinking of picking up something like these. I guess it's not recommended.

Well, if you like them, then get them. The flaws most people see with them is that the black area, is actually black, not the faux CF that is on the car already. They also don't have the raised area that the JDM ones do.

As for the bottom lights, they're "crystal" which doesn't match the JDM sort of checker board look.

As far as flowing with the car, are they recommended? Not really, because they stand out very much.

The only time I've seen the black corners look good on a car is on a black one. CarolinaJr. has one in his sig.
