hey Guys,

i know the above question has been asked a lot, but i can't find a thread for it.
And i know it is possible. But what is the difference between both shifters.

7th gen is a tad longer. You have to use he stock 7th gen one though, not a 7th gen short throw shifter.

Ah, I see. This called a short throw shifter. The shifter stalk below the pivot point is made longer than normal which shortens the amount of shift travel between between gears to make your shift quicker. One of our vendors, TWM, makes short throw shifters for 5th gens.

The stock 7th gen shifter will get you a reduced throw and still fit (with a few spacers). The aftermarket reduced throw shifters are much too long to use in our application. (or so I have heard and gathered from photos of the two side by side):)

Speaking of which.....

Cannon, I have 2 for you that I bought a while ago. You bring one ready-made to the Dragon for me? I'll pack the 2 I have to give you at Murgs.

so i would get a "shortshifter" if i would use a 7th gen shifter? ;-) And would be cheaper too? Or did i understand it fully wrong?

That's correct. Use a stock 7th gen shifter. They're just not easy to come by over here.

Yeah, Ben mentioned that and I keep forgetting to ask you about them. I'll see what I can do.
