3rd gen!!!! :ohyeah:

My fiance actually found it for me in the local paper. It is a 1985 gts 5spd convertible. It needs a bit of tlc, but the body has very little rust (virtually impossible to find around here). I had to put a clutch slave cylinder on it to get it on the road, but it is running good now and just waiting for a tune up as soon as I can sell the volvo. I am not sure if it will be at the dragon or not, it depends on if I can get the suspension and brakes and anything else that is shot fixed before then or not. If not I'll be in the saab.

Anyways, here are the pics. It is absolutely filthy, but it has been freezing cold here so I cant wash it yet.

I am not feeling it.

Maybe with the top down it would be better.

Do a Celica Supra nose conversion on it!

Can you do those? If so, that would be sick! And good god Toyota does not give you a very big rear window.

That front bumper/headlight style actually looks damn good in black. Think I'll do that on my car, and keep my tail lights as they are, I'll get the best of both worlds. So assuming thats a 22RE? I might have some extra trim parts if you need them, I picked up a bunch of stuff from a guy stripping a 82 coupe. Need most of it, but if you have a cracked vent or something let me know see what I can do.

celica-gts.com will be a good friend of yours haha. Congrats on the buy.

Thanks for the comments.

I like the front end, so that is staying. Once it gets above freezing here I'll clean it up a bit and get better pics, but for now I am in the planning stage figuring out what all needs fixed and what order to do it all in. It is a blast to drive!! It is highly doubtful that I will take it to the dragon this year because I dont have enough time to get it to where I feel comfortable driving it that far away and the suspension and brakes are shot.

I have been trolling celica-gts.com for a while now. ;)

Yes, it is the 22re, I'll pm you as soon as I sell the volvo and can afford parts for it. Thanks.

Yeah, I will need the rings, but I am not dealing with it for a while, so no rush. Thanks

Sweet man, i'm not a fan of the sedan body-style, but with RWD and a 5spd, it will be loads of fun.

I'll do that, The suspension is one of the first things to get fixed. I feel like I'm on a boat driving this thing.

Whiteline still makes a full compliment of 3rd gen suspension parts and I deal for them. I also get parts from a few other manufacturers. So call me whenever.

Everybody look at Turner cause he's sailin on a boat!

Lightweight and RWD is over9000.

When my first gen ran, it was fun to drive. Miss it!

The SC is a boat. More like a yacht. Kind of underpowered for what it is, but still scoots pretty well.

My next Celica will either be an ST165/185 depending on what I can get, or a second gen coupay!

Or a Sunchaser. I see them pop up from time to time for great prices.

I found a 4th gen in Cleveland for $800 that had rims that look like the OZ rally rims but painted red.

Automatic though. I'm not getting an auto Celica.

I would rock the SHIT out of that.

Paint the rims white

I also found an 89 Vert for $400 OBO in the Detroit Craigslist. Says the heat doesn't work and needs a new top. It has 206,000 miles runs and drives great.

If he'd take $200 I'd go buy it in a heartbeat.

But I'd be scared to take it to the Dragon...lol

Ugh...called on the Detroit one and they said its an auto.

FAIL.

She did say they'd take $300 for it though.

finally 3 ppl here have a 3rd gen

btw turner when u go to get engine parts make sure they are for the 85-95 22re, 82-84 stuff wont work at all.

as for a suspension

for the front get tokico illuminas, you will thank me later
rear shocks go to discount/advance and get te kyb gas-a-just, dont get the gr-2 they suck.

or rear get the rx7 illuminas

as for springs, go to coil spring specailties or ccs for short.

front celica supra suspension wont work, the rear how ever is exactly the same.

celica-gts.com will be your best friend
