As some of you know I installed an OBX 4-1 stainless steel header last week. For a little background info, it's a 1989 GT Coupe, 222k on the clock. The exhaust was already redone with 2.5" pipe from the flex pipe back. The two stock resonators were replaced with a single short one, and the muffler is a Magnaflow. Anything else, just read my signature. :)

Performance:
So far, so good. The car actually gained some oomph off the line, which I wasn't expecting at all. Seems to be breathing better up top, too. Acceleration increased a bit as well, the shift light keeps going off before I expect it. :hehe: Deceleration is much smoother.

Overall I'm very pleased. With what I've done to the intake and exhaust already that was the last bottleneck in the system, excluding the head itself. Of course you have to remember that the cat came off too, that certainly makes a difference as well.

Sound:
Well, this one's tough, because I absolutely loved the way it sounded before. It adds a sort of "buzz" that reminds me of angry-bee sounding Hondas, which is annoying. But, that really can't be avoided with a four cylinder, and at least it's not solely muffler induced. :) The noise isn't nearly as apparent outside of the car, though.

As for the volume, that fucker is LOUD. I swear the car's twice as loud as before, at the least 150% of what it was. The straight-through muffler isn't helping any, though, so I don't imagine it would be as loud with something else on there. A longer resonator would probably help, too.

UPDATE: It's quieted down quite a bit now. I assume it's because the unit's heated and cooled a few times. The volume's about what it was before.

Well, that's all I can think of. Any questions, just ask. Here's the media I've posted of it thus far:

Those are sweet.

I'm right to assume 3s and 5s headers will work with eachother right?

5s will not work on 3s unless its the MR2 style thats shaped to clear the starter motor. From what I found anyways
