would 0.035" B E width smaller rod effect the crank or rotating assembly any without changing the crank any, this would be for a 5sfe crank

it could rock back and forth on the crank, not good

Side clearance on the crankpin i take it?
Has to be within manufacturer limits otherwise it can float across the journal and if it contacts either the thrust faces of the piston pin bore or the thrust faces of the crankpin it can impart a side load onto the rod effectively loading one side of the bearing and breaking through the oil film.
Its one of those critical measurements that has to be right unfortunately.
Maybe get a good machine shop to give an opinion on what you can get away with, be careful tho. :)

it would mess with the oiling flow too
