Im thinking about picking up a 2000 Toyota Celica Gt, but it needs a motor and don't know a lot about Celicas. Any ideas if anything other than a 1zzfe or 2zzfe will swap into that body style?

Other things will fit. but will require Custom fab. honestly your best bet is to replace with the stock engine.

If you could fit a 1zzfe you could prolly find a way to make a 20v 4AGE fit. You wouldnt be OBD2 emissions compliant anymore though.

Pretty much, if you don't have emissions, you can do a 20V Blacktop, but if you do, or might have to do emissions, get a 2ZZ-GE or stick with the stock motor (1ZZ-FE)

Would it be worth the trouble to put in a 20v over a 2zzge?

It might be cheaper, plus there's probably a bit more after market for it... mostly because people have been modding it longer. However, the difference is probably negligable...

the ONLY motor to put in is either stock 1ZZ-FE or upgrade to a 2ZZ-GE. anything else will be a downgrade. trust me i know when it comes to the 7th gen
