The coupe's a FE. It is an OBX.

Grot, as I mentioned in your thread on this subject, I'm pretty sure there's starter clearance issues on the GE. If I get a chance I'll look at mine and confirm.

I'll definitely post a review, and I'll probably end up taking pictures and doing a write-up. Isn't exactly necessary, but I enjoy doing them. :)

It is an OBX, yes. And if you're a lucky enough 4th Gen owner to have a GE mated to a tranny with the starter on the tranny side you're in luck. If not......no go; starter foul.

Was gonna be today, but I got lazy. Today and tomorrow are my days off this week. So I've just gotta get my lazy ass up early and get it taken care of...

Had a chance to look at mine, it's the same. Technically you could make it fit, but the heat would fry the starter solenoid. You'd probably be replacing it once a month, at least. The only workaround I can see would be using the 3S-FE tranny, which would also require new axles. Don't think it'd be worth it, IMO.

would exaust wrap help?

CriScO
01-15-2009, 12:04 AM
Yeah, as well as fabbing a heat shield for the starter, but I still don't think it'd last long.

yea its not worth it. i will just try to find the factory header that came on the 89 GTS.

you can use the mr2 5s-fe header on the 3sge, if its the style thats shaped liek this http://www.geocities.com/tigeronfire445/4.gif buts its a paint in the butt as you gotta retate the flange
