Early GT's had oil consumption issues....

I had a 7th gen for a few years. Good car, but I could just get rid of my dash rattling, I'd prefer the 5th gen over it.

I've heard the 7th gens get all kinds of weird rattles...

I like the GT-S rims though. :bigthumbu

I never had any rattles in my 7th gen. My 5th gen is borderline unbearable though. Every time I get in another car, I'm amazed at how quiet it is compared to mine.

Well thats a different story, an 18 year old car lol. Right now only terrible rattle is from a bad strut mount, ocasionally there will be some other noises but they go away nearly immediately.

I guess you got a good one

I dunno what you're talkin about. Mine doesn't have any rattles. But it's a good handeling car, that's for sure. I think you'll like that aspect of it. I've also had like 3 chicks do me cause of that car. Hahaha

Welcome to the dark side of the 7th generation owners.

Now post pics or it didn't happen.

1zz and 2zz were both 1.8, so GT and GT-S is 1.8.

Actually, if you want to get technical, there is a 1cc difference between the two. 1ZZ: 1794cc and 2ZZ: 1795cc. I know, it's negligible, but I'm in a smart ass mood. ;)

If it has sportshift and the aluminum pedals its a GTS. GTs dont have the sportshift.

vip09
01-07-2009, 10:25 PM
GT also has drum brakes in the rear. GTS has discs all around. That's the easiest way to tell besides looking at the engine bay. The 1zz has a plastic intake manifold. The 2zz has the sexy aluminum one.

GTS auto is slower than the GT auto.. unless you are doing a ultra top end run. The GTS auto would probably start sailing by the GT around 100mph.. lol

nah im still king of good deals cause i have a 22r powered truck i got for free and had to put 30 dollars into to get it running, and the gts i have, i traded my barely running stx for.

lets see broke list

passenger cv axle clicks
front wheel bearings are shot, buddy will press new ones in for 30 bucks for me
needs a rear quarter window
corner light

i rolled 184,00 miles on the way back last night, this car runs great and its suprizingly peppy, oh and the interior is like new

Anything is better than that Saturn at this point for her.

It was a decent car for her, but it just accelerated so funky and has no pick up whatsoever.

7A will be fine. Its more practical than the Saturn since she carpools and such. More comfortable, better ride, handles better.

The Saturn needed too much money to make it as nice as the Corolla:

New tires, new wheel covers, struts/mounts/bushings, new exhaust system, sunroof drain hose replacement, windshield had a small crack, etc.

The guy that bought it didn't care about that stuff, but Michaeline didn't want to pay for the work, and I wasn't going to work on it. I swore it off the first time I did an oil change (filter is inconveniently placed behind the engine and nearly impossible to get to without a lift).

She would have had a grand or more into the previously mentioned needs and other things it might need. It also burned oil BAD (Most Saturns do though).

The Corolla was had for $1,800. Fresh paint job (great job too), absolutely mint interior, engine freshly detailed, good new tires, Alpine HU, and tons of other nice stuff. It rides really, really nicely. Almost wish I could have found that when I got the Volvo.

We're both happy, because now I don't have to hear her bitch about how she hates her car, her mom tell her she needs a new car, and me having to work on the car.

The Corolla is just a better car in every aspect and more convenient for me to work on.
