its a friend of mine. Has a bad BAD rod knock. Ive found cheapy rebuild kits for 400, good ones for 1500(stroker).

Im going to want another project car soon...

And i might be able to negotiate a lower price since she is a friend.

not a good project car.

you can get many dsms for much cheaper in 5 speed and awd.

hummmm. ok. good call. I want awd next anyways...

maybe an ALLTRAC..

yeah, actually that sounds like a good idea. find me an alltrac.

course gotta finish the halftrac first.

if it was a 5spd, then it might be worth it. They eat motors, but can easily be wicked fast.

Also easy to work on.

I'd buy it...

For $1200.

I hear Mitsu's are a pain to deal with. Unreliable drivetrain to the max. Of course, this is only hearsay on account of many many many many owners and I have no personal experience.

Hey Anachranerd......where do you frequent in STL?

You mean where do I shop? Or where I go to hang out?

I shop at O'reilly's, carquest, etc.

I rent a garage from a friend, in overland(Page/170) area. to be honest with you, I dont go out much. Occasionally down to the corner bar. But where i rent the garage, Im best friends with the owner of the house. And neighbors on both sides. We dont usually go out much(they dont have much $$ and I blow mine on cars/computers/tools), so we can be found either in the garage tinkering, or inside drinkin and playing video games or with some computer or another..

You're hearing the 10% of one year of 7 bolt motors that have crankwalk. :P

The problem with DSMs is that it's so cheap to make stupid power that people tend to jump instead of stepping up to where they need to be, and skip some steps necessary.

I work for Amdocs, a software company. I take classes part time at UMSL(borrring).

My 88 is red, it is sitting out front without and engine or seats right now. Body has some rust which is going to be cleaned out. It will be painted black. Right now im focusing on tuning the engine, and doing some data capture for a little custom project im working on.

Daily driver is a white maxima 2000 SE :)

Yup, went to UMSL for a semester before SLU.......boring...tell me about it. I've heard of Amdocs...don't know where you guys are tho. My 89 has been in a perpetual state of build for 9 months now. Almost done tho..... When you see the best looking red 4th Gen you've ever laid eyes on....that's when you'll know it's me. :bigthumbu

Um......sorry to break it to you......but there's only one Red Rocket and that's my ST162. She's been poundin' the pavement in STL since coming off the lot at Seeger Toyota in May of 1989. Yup, the Red Rocket and me have been sort of exclusive since 1997. Check out the nametag, bro. You're in my world now! If you do not go to sleep, then I will put you to sleep....er.....um......wait that's not where I was going with that.

Crankwalk is the least of my worries with these cars. Mitsu's have always had a history with bad trannies. Look it up.

This... i know. Everytime i see a fast DSM at the track, they always get one good run, and about 12 bad ones, due to shifting problems.

Oh well... Shep trannies are nice. :D
