Today a tech had to take care of my third nail-punctured tire in only one year's time.

Correction. I think one of those three flat tires was punctured by a shard of PVC.

Maybe this is just one of those law of averages thing. Like a freak of nature thing.

How often do you guys have troubles with tires? When's the last time you've had to take care of a nail?

Although I haven't been driving for all that long, I usually end up killing at least one tire a year, although I've been lucky enough lately, and the only thing I've had on my tires is one of my valve stems is leaking. *cross fingers*

Once I actually ended up with most of a screwdriver in a tire. That one was loud.

No flats in 7 years. No punctures, no nails, no nothing. Worse thing that's ever happened is negative camber wear, and i expect that and don't mind it.

It seems like I have 1 incident almost every year. ^I also had some messed up wear on my tires. The outside wall of the front left one was really bald...maybe I should check my alignment...or maybe I should buy better tires than khumos?

Alignment. There's nothing wrong with Kuhmos.

I think I have two tires across 4 vehicles that don't have a plug in them.

What would you guys do if you had to replace just one tire, but you couldn't buy one that matches the other 3?

Would you buy 2 tires eventually, so at least you have the same tread style and matching wear?

Three punctures! One year! Never happened in 7 years of driving! I guess that means my average is one puncture every 2 years and 4 months.

I just make sure I buy tires that are easily replaceable with the same model.

Id buy at least a matching set.

I wont buy just 1 tire. If I have to buy one tire Ill just replace both so its matching wear.

I haven't had anything that hasn't been patchable yet, but I'd probably replace in sets of two.

Most punctures are repairable. I think maybe 1 in 25 tires that I did when I worked in the oil pits at Toyota were unrepairable. Your local Toyota dealership should be able to fix a puncture, or any tire shop for that matter. I would recommend a place that patches them rather then plugs them however. The plugs had a much higher failure rate.
