View Full Version : Few pictures of my dads timing belt

As many of you know, a few weeks ago, a bunch of us did a timing belt job on my dads car. He has a 1992 Celica GT hatch Auto.

Well here are a few pics of the belt..

this is what it looks like in between EACH tooth of the belt..

Here you can see the major spot where the timing skipped....

I also found on the belt that it is an actual Toyota oem belt. My dads car has 17x,000 miles on it. Thank god its a non-interference engine...

Ya, apparently the previous owner did not believe in maintenance.....

Sounds about right. Mine had right around 180k when it went. One of the previous owners lied about the belt being replaced. Mine just skipped a few teeth, none of them came off.

Same with mine slider. mine just stretched and i jumped time. nothing to bad.

Sorry man, my hands shake pretty bad and it is really hard to take good pictures.

If you used flash and used the option for taking close-up pictures (usually has a picture of a flower) then your pictures would have come out clear.

Its my dads camera, I havent really looked at it much....

thats why all the new re-design engines go back to timing chain.

Fo Sho man... i cant see the crank braking though.. especially on a stock engine..
