A 47-minute documentary on the Nissan GT-R.

Kind of light with the info, kind of fluffy. But thinking about the car after watching the film, I have more respect for it.

I kind of "get" it now.

I bet making a documentary about it voids the warranty.

If you don't know what I mean, google it :P

I remember reading your post on that - sounds like it was a fun night.

I think what I didn't "get" before was how it was appealing to have a car loaded with so many gadgets. Immediately I thought "BMW iDrive." But I'm starting to realize that the technical improvements aren't all necessarily to create a car that drives itself.

As the documentary said: the target was the Porche 911 turbo. The iconic sports car, if there ever was such a thing. So right there is a sign that Nissan was serious about making it a track-capable car, not just a big-displacement motor attached to a bunch of creature comforts.

Case in point was the transmission. A dual clutch, AWD transmission to boot. A transmission capable of shifting in 0.2 seconds. That's a serious transmission there.

It's fast, it's high-tech, and it's definitely Japanese.

Lol, ya, one negative about the new gtr is that you cant even change the wheels without voiding the warranty....damn tpms...
