Wet sand it and clear coat it if you want it to last, nite shades will turn this flat looking color after a while. A week after you can wet sand using 2000 grit and polish the clear coat to have that mirror finish.

I sprayed Chaos' lights about 5 years ago with VHT. I didn't clear them.

Yeah, it fades over time. They are still smoked, but it is more of a flat, subdued smoked now. I am not sure I care for it much.

I know of three members off the top of my head that have smoked lights, so you'd make four.

I did a couple of light passes on my roomie's Kia when I did mine, it gave it a real nice subdued look over the clear red tails. It still looks good now. I went a lot thicker on Chaos, that is why it faded so bad.

I did three coats of VHT, and then two coats of clear, with sanding between coats, I ended up with a nice even flat finish. If I take some 3M polishing grit compound and a Mothers power ball to it, it should shine right up.

I did 2 coats on the AT. I'm still happy with the results and it's been almost 2 years.

Mine were smoked when I bought the car, not a fan of it anymore. They have faded too much.

I have used plasti-kote, krylon and I think I have used duplicolor too. Most auto stores should have it. The key is too use light coats at the appropriate distance. You don't want to make the paint run. The clear might not look glossy or perfect now but that's just one of the things that comes with using a rattle can. Wait a week or 2 then wet sand it with 2000 grit or higher then using a rubbing compound to buff it to a nice glossy finish. I use 3m rubbing compound.

It's like $5-10 bucks at most stores http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0002NUNB6/103-4451168-3459847?SubscriptionId=1NP56Y8QKPN1AZERGY02

This guy used a buffer, you can do it by hand with a microfiber cloth or a pad. Get ready for some sore arms though.
