Well I just got done building a 20v hybrid, that although it has been done before, I don't think it's been done in a 5th gen. I now have my rebuilt blacktop head mounted to a silvertop block, and even though it'll drop my compression a touch, it'll be well worth it. The fact that the silvertop block has thicker con rods, the 5-speed tranny came with lsd and I'm gonna throw in a trd .8mm headgasket next week to bring the compression ratio back up, by far makes up for any downfalls. I should be installing my e-manage sometime in the next few weeks to get a fine tune on the A/F ratios, and to raise the rev cut to 8500.

Sounds good man. Wish I could pick up a blacktop head for my 7AGTE 20v project. It's designed and flows a lot better than the silvertop from what I've heard.

Yeah they're thicker conrods, but they're also heavier...

Well my TRD headgasket came in today, just got done pulling the head and flattening the surfaces, so i'll probably be slapping that thing in tonight and torquing the head down. Throw the cams in tomorrow and time that bad mother, hopefully have it ready to take to work in the afternoon. Still gotta put in my poly motor mounts, and the e-manage but I think this is enough work on the car for one week. Will update, with pics and video link when it is running.

Head gasket is on and as far as I can tell is working fine. But of course fix one thing and two more go wrong. Now my VVT solenoid is leaking and I have to order a new one, and i need a new gasket on my head where the water pump hose connects to it. It does sound alot healthier than it did with the blacktop block, can't wait to drive it around.

Cabe Toyota out of Long Beach had it for $90. http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=778 the contact info is at the bottom of the first post, they actually carry quite a bit oem 20v stuff also. Pass Racing also sells 20v stuff, but it was $95 there.
