So, i went with my buddy yesterday when he traded in his 2004 Mazda 6 for a 2003 Civic Si.

They had a car on the lot that i'm going to go test drive and talk to them about on Tuesday.

Cross your fingers for me.

I'll be first to comment.

Why o' Why<-- is all I have to say?

Looks nice but, I just dont know what else to say. I like the newer Saabs, but not necessarily enough to buy it. I guess maybe for a DD but thats it.

Yeah.... for DD duty. I talked them down to $7k yesterday in about 2 minutes, i think i can get them down further depending on down payment. I'm looking at doing $2k down.

I'm not going to make a project out of this thing. Maybe just drop it, even though it's not exactly high right now.

It'll be hard not to go nuts on it, though. These things respond ridiculously well to bolt ons and tuning.

But Celica comes first.

I just need something that i'm not going to hate to drive while the Celica is down for probably the better part of the fall/winter.

I've got WAY too much time in this Celica to ditch it for a minty Saab. If i could find a minty Viggen in my price range, it would be another matter. But i'm not big enough of a fan of the Saab 2.0T to have it take the place of a 3sgte celica.

Yeah, you can get the 2-door. The weird thing is is that the 2-door only came in Viggen and base that year.

If you wanted the one in between like this one, (205hp/209tq) you had to get the 4-door. Technically called the SE-HO

Man, I have never heard anything but people complain about Saabs aways being in the shop.

Proceed with caution.

I've had two before, they aren't that bad if you take care of them.

Parts aren't all that bad for them, either. I haven't had an experience with any car this new, though, so that'll be a new experience. :)

I would avoid saab, The old ones were great, I've worked on one with over 500,000 miles 1 owner 1 motor.

However, they went seriously down hill when gm got involved with them.

Another one bites the dust.

Yeah, be careful of the GMness.

GM has owned Saab since 1998, but in 2000, they still hadnt started screwing up stuff. Most of that car is still the same kind of thing as the mid 90s 900.

So, I say...

DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll see what the payment would be like.... i have an appointment after work today to run some numbers.

I haven't had a car payment in like..... ever. And i'm not too eager to start. If this looks like something i won't be too happy about, then i'll just start looking for another old 9000 Turbo.

The old version 9-3s are good cars, but for that price you could easily get a 9000 aero if you want a 9000. (and the 9000 would be faster.)

I can get a nice 9000 Aero for like... $1500. Just like i did last time.

This one i've talked them down to $7k. Big difference. :p

Upside to the 9-3 is that it's newer, lower miles, and nicer in general, even if it isn't as fast to start with. (Although Nordic Stage 4 looks nice :hehe:)

We'll see.

I wouldn't mind another 9000 Aero, my only problem is knowing what i can do to one.
