so for three years i've been putting up with shutting of and getting the CLONK!! in the ass of my car so i got in there yesterday, unbolted the diff and slid it forward, pulled the old cushion out it was barely existant, so i chopped out all the rubber, cut out some metal plates to weld over both sides and got the old fellla to weld em on for me (my welding skills leave a little to be desired still) came out ok, then spent and hour of jiggery pokery trying to get teh fucker back in (it's a litte fatter now) and bolted it all up, hey presto no more clonk! and its much nicer on accelerating out of the corner since u don't have to wait that split second for the ass to catch up it handles a little more like a rear wheel drive

not much road noise it starts to wine a bit at like 140 and over but apart from that it's no different

so one more thing ticket off on the list!!

u know my pain clasique?? hehe

the diff pivits on four rubbre mounts on the chasis, and at teh back the diff is attatched to this one big rubber mount that soaks up the tourque from acceleration and shutting off, problem being toyota made a boo boo and made it out of a shit hous material and it died in the ass real quick so when u shut off it goes CLONK in the back and same when u accelerate, so i just made mine solid, a few of hte guys on altrac have done the same but they are getting them from this guy called mario who is making them out of solid alumium, real nice buti coudl'nt justify spending hte money when i could just make one myself

did the 205 suffer the same problem?
