So I found this Neon for $300. Thing is, the coolant and tranny fluid have mixed together (caused by a leak in the transmission heat exchanger).

One of the shops gave a quote of $2500-$3000CND to repair everything.
I figure I would get a junkyard transmission.

What else shouold I look for?

Is this task worth while? or should I pass on this?

Full new car? lol Chrysler transmissions are horrible. you may run into a ton of problems messing with it.

price everything out and weigh it in, If it's worth it is upto you. Can you find everything cheap enough?

The bastard didn't tell me it was from another province, so I ended up saying screw it lol. I don't feel like fixing that, then having it inspected so I can insure and drive it lol.

Yeah its a six year old Neon.

That should have been your first and last thought on the car.

If it were in drivable shape you could have bought the car and flipped it at a profit.

I would pass on it honestly. I had a 94 neon. When the clutch blew, it took out the tranny along with everything else. Nothing was the same after that.

If there's nothing else wrong with it and if you have the time. I would buy a used transmission and have it swapped in. My dad had a shop buy a tranny and swap it in for $1000 or do it yourself. Then you can flip it for profit, otherwise I would stay away.
