What if I said that I could trade in my ST184r with the 3s-gte rc engine for an almost mint Nissan 180sx with Sr20-det in it for very little extra money? To me they are basically the same car. The 180sx is slightly less practical (rear space etc.) but the Celi is fwd...

*I know this is CELICAtech...but many here also have silvias and sx's...it's not like I'm looking at a Honda.

if I could stand to rid of my celica, I'd consider it. The only problem with nissan's is that they are a PAIN to work on. Any pics of the 180 by chance? Is it modded at all?

If only Celicas had stayed RWD. About nothing in its class can touch the looks and the chassis are so solid. But damn that FWD. It makes trades like this hard to argue with when the main issue is performance. :(

I would get it! My first car was an S12 turbo and it was a blast to drive! Never broke down but scarry in the rain and snow. GO for it! RHD?

The car (http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/cars-for-sale/230839-for-sale-nissan-180sx-and-mitsubishi-lancer-mx-97-a.html)

That's the car, with specs and how it looks...and ciento44, the two engines are almost twins..both sized 86X86mm, but the sr20 is all aliminum...it's a higher revving engine compared to the 3s-gte...power very similar...
i don't know anyone with one a 180sx, but my cousin has a S15, so I usually compare the celica with his...the celi is more practical and the build quality is better overall, but the silvia is more fun and has better performance...
and over here, aftermarket support for the 180 is better due to it's popularity in Japan. And I prefer the celica's looks too, if it was an ST185 I'd never sell it...but it's not...

anyway right now I need to first call the guy and ask him if he'd accept the Celi as a trade-in...

anyone here know any serious problems with the 180 that I should know about?

I am on that forum. ;)

At least I was last time I was in Malaysia. I was hoping someone could had got me the hookup on gtfour parts. Little did I know that Caldinas are common there and 185s are more rare.

I was lucky enough to see a beautiful blue RC on my way to Panang Island.

Do what you like better. I think the Celica looks better, but you might have more fun in the 240.
