View Full Version : 4A-FE to 4A-GE Silvertop HELP!

I am in the middle of a Silvertop swap with my AT180. Upon research I found out that the Wiring Harness that they sent me was to a blacktop (saw a MAP sensor connection instead of a AFM connection. Needless to say I was PISSED!... at first. I did more research and found out they sent me a Blacktop's ECU as well. This was one of the greatest days of my life! I could now run open element without having to spend up to an extra 800.00 for a different ECU and Harness. Great right? Yes and no. Yes this is great! lol.

However, I to this day still cannot find any copies of the Celicas wiring Diagrams. :( I about cried last night. lol. I have the one from the blacktop but not the celica. I have been working on this harness issue like crazy. If anyone can tell me where to go to get a copy of the wiring diagrams please let me know.

P.S. - I know this has had to be talked about in another thread... So, sorry for the repeat.

Would this work?

And could you share the ones you have for the Blacktop? All I've found is Silvertop diagrams.

Try here, they have a good bit of stuff on the 20v

I kinda feel your pain on the harness thing, when I bought mine they sent me one for a silvertop, complete bullshit.

Actually, as it turns out, you gave me the one for the Blacktop as well. Well I went to a like from another thread that you posted in. It is the one with pictures of all of the connections that tells you where the wires should go. I also got these off of Club 4AG:

And then this one which you posted as I said:

I think... I know I should be able to finish this project by this weekend now!!! Thanks so much! I don't expect the work to be all that fun, but the outcome should be well worth it. Again thanks. I will keep you posted on my progress.

How has your swap been going?

How has your swap been going?
So far, it isn't. The place where I'm supposed to be doing the work(a friend's garage) is always busy. So I can't find time to go and do it.

Wow... unfortunately I know that feeling all too well. Thankfully on this swap I am just usiong my parents two-car. lol. no lisft, but it'll work. Have you fabricated any of the other stuff for the swap? I did up a 2.5 inch 16 gauge t304 stainless cat back system for mine. I expect the note to be crazy, especially since the gases will be exiting a 5 inch tip. I also modified the downpipe. My other big projects include: fabing mounts for the insane radiator I got that is supposed to be for a V-8, welding in a new floor, dual relocated battery set, taking out all of the A/C stuff, and modifying the rack to run without powersteering. I also already took the P/S pump and A/C compressor out.

I'm missing my downpipe, so exhaust will have to be custom made after the engine is in(placement, etc). But no, nothing else has been done yet. My ST is my daily, so I can't do anything extreme to it yet.

Yeah I know that feeling. My dad has been takin me all around for about 6 months now! I have been without a motor that long. lol. Not fun! But to get a down pipe, check out ebay. They have them on there everynow and then when someone gets a silvertop or blacktop but wants to run rwd. I mean there is no point in them keeping that fwd downpipe so they sell it. I got mine like 8 months back before I pulled my engine. I since then cut it up and modified it to fit to the cat-back I made. I all the pipes from Jegs.com. unlikely place for us tuners to shop... but I have spent like 1000 - 1100 toward this swap on their site.

To keep you all up to date, the swap is about 95% Done! All I have left to do is wire in the fuse box. Here are some photos...
