Who says Friday the 13th is a bad day. I just got a call from the shop that my head is done and ready to be shipped back. The great part is that they saved me from having to order new shims which was gonna be around $200 w/shipping, also saving me about a week of waiting. I'm so ready to drive that beast again that my wife and I said screw it and are driving up to Savannah tomorrow to pick it up as opposed to having it shipped. This way I can put it in this weekend and have it driving by Monday as opposed to next weekend. I'm so excited I think I have to go rub one out now.

Well I was gonna have them build up the internals cause I had a knock. But when they tore it down they found out that the valves weren't seating because of how bad the carbon buildup was, and from what I read about other 20v's they tend to gunk up. So they cleaned, dipped and rebuilt it with new valve seals and a 3 angle valve job. I'm gonna hold off on taking it to 9000 until I get an emanage installed.

Hey.... something i've been meaning to ask you and the 20v guys....

Have you ever driven anything with a mildly worked Honda B16? I'm just curious as to how it compares. I've never driven or rode in a 20v powered car, and i'm starting to get the itch for a ridiculously rev-happy car again, and i'm not sure if i want to try to get rid of my hatch for an AE92 or AW11, or bite the bullet and go Honda again.

Ideally, i'd like to get a worked 3rd gen 3sge in my black car, but i doubt i'll ever have the ambition to do that, and if i keep it, it'd be more likely to get a 5sfte of sorts.

Ha. I have experience in a B16 SiRII swapped CRX, just haven't been in a 20v swap yet.

See, i've driven an authentic EG Civic SiRII, sooo..... So much fun raping that thing to 9200rpms.

I had a manager at the previous station that I worked at that had one. To me it the civic felt like it had way more torque. Theres a video on the tube that has an AE111 vs SiR vs Pulsar, where they do 3 laps and the 20v is behind on the first lap but quickly catches up and passes the others.

^Yup pulls hard, and the price was right. $500 here locally in Atlanta. You could swap this motor into a celica for about the same price as a 20v. You just need some parts off junkyard gt's.

Yours went together easily.

The gen3 3sge and the 20v are both nice motors. Both can be swapped cheap.
