Its a test mule.

Like the Volt that has been running around Milford disguised as a 2005ish Malibu.

They're just testing stuff...be patient. Unless its just going to be a Legacy coupe (which I doubt).

I know a lot of you are "believe it when I see it" folks but this IS coming. It's just not coming in the way any of us wanted. I want a RWD car with a normal four cylinder engine in a COUPE style (no hatch BS) and badged by Toyota.

I mean...look at a new legacy and then look at that. Its the same car.

Shot outside a test center in the UK (amidst white-out conditions), the camo-clad mule is sporting some body panels pilfered from the current Legacy, but with a Toyota emblem in front,

Car companies routinely put existing body panels on prototypes when testing new platforms, suspensions, power plants, etc. In fact there was an "s2000" running around with a V10 stuffed into it for testing. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=120921. They do it especially when the final production exterior styling and design has not been finalized

The exterior isn't done, my guess is there using the covering material to "test" looks out on it. It could be a 2 door they are making the rear window look like it might be a coupe. They are just trying to get a feel for the exterior. What would work visual wise, and what wouldn't.

Of course there going to use a pre-existing car to test out a new layout. Why would they throw a prototype into production before they even know what they want? Then they would have like 100 prototypes, each costing the company tons of money.

It's like when they build a life size car out of clay, it's just to "feel out" what will work.
