As much as i love RWD, keep the tradition of AWD.

I prefer the car comes out past a concept and rumors.

I take it no one here has been reading any of the press releases?

I have and very excited on the final product. As far as drive train choices i would like to see both RWD and AWD but for the most part I'm with AWD for a traditional GT4!

awd gt4 with a good suspension setup is better then rwd in my opinion.

How about the guy over on lexusownersclub.com with the 5G GTS converted RWD powered by a 7MGTE. He said Toyota made him sign an agreement not to post pictures anywhere to people.

The 8th gen isn't here, so I dont speculate much.

But if it DOES come, I'd want the RWD one with all the options. What I have read is that the base model ones will have a Toyota four and the GT4 will have the Scooby engine.

Sounds like bullshit to me, What interest is it of toyotas what modifications people make to their private vehicles.

Or are you implying that toyota did the work themselves for said customer?

Sorry it took me such a long time to respond to your PM. Been very busy, with an upcoming endurance race. Unfortunately, Toyota made each race team sign Confidentially Agreements before we could use their engines and transmissions in our Celicas. I'll try to take some more images of the exterior and interior, minus the engine bay and the chassis.

That is what he said to me after I told him to come to CT and post up.

I have my doubts about this... Toyota rents out their engines to many teams but the 7mgte wasn't really a competition engine for the most part...

And a 5th Gen w/ RWD would FAIL. It's got bad enough weight distribution w/ a little 4 banger, let alone a big ass 6.

A six would fail, yeah.... unless they knocked it back like.... 2 feet. :hehe:

The 1uz car was said to have a decent f/r, though.

As for me? I'd get the RWD version. And ditch that engine ASAP. I will probably own one of these one day, but i will make sure i have everything i need to get rid of that engine before i take delivery.

From the video I've seen of the 1UZ celica it looks like it can't make traction AT ALL. Probably great at the drags but doesn't look like it'd make a good sports car.

Well... he just needs more tire back there. Weight distribution, at least according to his build thread, is WAY better than stock, pretty close to 50/50.

It's pretty easily to get a relatively light car to step out like it does when you're making that kind of power. :hehe:

UGH I want a Toyota branded Celica, no Subie Impreza please. Sounds like I'll be going to the Genisis Coupe instead.
