Well, as i always do, i was browsing Craigslist for Geo Metros when two new ones popped up in the search. I called one of them and left an email with the other. The guy seemed real cool, and was very eager to sell. I told him i would be out there tomorrow(friday) to see it. After i hung up the phone i thought, "fuck, this wont last until tomorrow with the gas prices". So i called him back and said i'd be there today to see it.

In a nutshell, im kinda a geo metro enthusiast. :wiggle: But, what im trying to do is, is to take advantage of the situation and buy them now while they're still fairly cheap and sell them for 2/3 times their value. I know, im'a stinker.

Well, anyways, heres my new geo that i added to my collection. Its a 95 Geo metro lsi. Its a 2 door hatchback, 4cylinder(1.3L) automatic. The cool thing about it is it can go 95mph!!! Which may seem like no big deal, but to anyone whos into geos or owns one, they know its very hard to go 65-70 in the 3cylinder versions. This is what 500 bucks got me last night, Enjoy!

Have you tried to get it to go 95 yet? It isn't pretty....Buddy has a 1998 4 door with the 1.3, and 3-speed auto. The thing sounds like it's revving at like 6000rpms at 75 mph on the highway.

It is pretty funny making it downshift into second at 65mph if you step on it, though.

I'm honestly not sure that at normal highway speeds they get THAT great mileage, but it's absolutely amazing around town, i'll admit.

Cool thing is that it has the most ridiculous economy stock stereo i've ever heard. Sounds entirely decent.

<EDIT>

If it has A/C, cut that belt. You gain a BUNCH of power and MPG.

lol because two years ago I could have bought a 93 Metro four door with 90,000 miles for $300.

And I kept thinking, "I could only make two hundred bucks on that thing."

Or, "Why would I want a Metro?"

WRONG.

Big mistake.

Dude, that could fix your wiring harness on the 72.

Or just buy you a 5th gen GT hatch.

not too bad, though I probably would never get an auto metro. I've seen people list the ratings on those and only averaging 40 MPG while the ones like mine and your 1st one generation do about 50, whats with that? Any cheap metro right now is really a steal

They've already sold on ebay for $7k +.

It's sad.

I'm disgusted.

There is a guy on the metro/swift forum that regrids the cams for those cars. One grind to improve the gas mileage and another to gain performance. It's kind of funny, because my dad had a 96 Metro that needed a new clutch and he did not want to spend the money or time to fix it, so he sold it to the junk yard for $100.00 He could have fixed it and sold it for way more.

90, you going to flip it or keep it?

Sell one on ebay... you'll make a mint :)

they're rated at 40mpg in city, im not sure of the highway mileage. I left chicago on a 1/4 tank, and i went 70-80mph the whole way home and came on a little bit above E. So, not too shabby.

I thought the same thing! I turned the radio up and was fairly impressed. It had a little bass, my 90 with the factory speakers sounds like someone is just singing in the back seat :)

Psshh....no thank you. :) Got it sold right now for 900 :wiggle:
