well my uncle works for toyota and he told me its a head gasket because there are air pockets in the tubes that connects to the head. also there is oil in the spark plugs.

Oil in the spark plugs just means oil in the spark plugs from the spark plug tubes. That has NOTHING to do with the headgasket.

You very well may have a bad headgasket, but oil in the spark plug wells is not the way to tell that.

LAWL. Dude. Look at that radiator. Start there... Headgasket.... LOLOLOL.

Seriously though. That is the worst looking top of a radiator I've ever seen in a running car. WTF is that on the top at the neck, 5 tubes of JB weld??

Edit: Sorry if it sounds like I'm crappin' on your aquisition, I'm not at all, it just stood out in that pic as something you'll want to fix right away. If the coolant system is not pressurized due to cracks and such and if the core is restricting flow because it's rusty/clogged/beat up/not actually a celica radiator then you could have overheating issues.

yeah, is the oil on top of the spark plugs or are you getting oil from the combustion chamber portion? If its on top, its going to be the tube seals, not the HG. Check your oil too, it will look like a nastey muck if you're getting any coolant to mix in with oil which some times results from blown HG's

And I must agree, that radiator looks nastey, that could be the source of your overheating. Have you gotten rid of your ST yet?

well im already ordering a radiator once i saw that jb weld lol and yeah it looks shitty as hell. but celicagt90_05 i did sell the st for 950 and i bought the gts for 900 so yeah im taking everything apart tomorrow and figuring out the problem ill let you all know what i find out. once i put antifreeze/and coolant in the radiotor and start the gt-s to see if it just chills there and it shot all out over the engine. once i put the fluid into the radiator it runs fine for about an hour or so and then slowly overheats. once i stop i let the engine cool down and i looked under the radiator cap and its completely dry?

ahh thats cool, just curious though, why the different fender and bumper? Was it in a small wreck? Check your bushings and such on that side because I once saw an altima that had been hit in the side with nastey bushings. When you do the test, let it warm up, do you notice any smoke from the tail pipe? Check there too, but if you dont see any thing squirting out or dripping on the ground than it must be the HG. Oh hey I have some celica stuff for sale in the FS section in case you might need some things

^^ yeah i was going to check the brushings tomorrow morning but the title to the car was clean he said that the fender had a hit and run so he replaced it and he wanted the 93 bumper instead of the 90 bumper? but there was not smoke coming from the pipes and it litterally fountained like 4ft out of the top of the radiator and got all over the place. ill go check out your thread in the FS section thanks man

cool, so you're saying the radiator is leaking? Well goodluck with everything

only when i take the cap off and turn the car on to see how its settling. i might grab those mudflaps from you but idk yet. i have corners and that centerpiece coming in.

well if you take the cap off, its going to because then you release system pressure and descrease the boiling point, thats normal. So far waiting for word from 19celica90 about the mudflaps

Well, I have to say looking at the pics I think the hit and run story is probably false. No reason the corner lights and other bumper pieces would be missing if he'd just wanted to swap bumper cover styles. Also, the hood is bent/arched towards the center. The bumper cover is also not parallel to the hood. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it was in a frontal collision with something that also took the fender out, but it was probably pretty low speed. That radiator -aside from looking bad and mangled- does not look like it came with the car, for some reason it doesn't look like the right core, though having just had an alltrac and a 6gen I wouldn't swear to that, 5g gts could be different.

Could be wrong, just what it looks like. Either way 900 bucks is not a ton of money so I wouldn't say it was a bad deal, but it definitely needs some love

yeah i noticed the bend in the hood...im quite disappointed with that and come to think of it he probably was so im going to take everything off and check it all out. thanks for the input T-spoon
