Picked up a set of 16" wheels from a 7th gen today, $300 with tires! They look AMAZING on the 'vert. Picked em up for the All Trac, but they looked so good I thought I would run them on the GT for a while. They fill the wheel well nicely, no rub at all. Something like 5mm spacers in the rear would look awesome. Can't wait to get the KYB's and the Tein's in, see them with a slight drop. Picked 'em up off of Craigslist from a guy over on NewCelica. Tires will need to be replaced soon, but they're not bad for now. I'll get something a little wider than 205's, maybe 215's when I replace the rubber. Put them on, they have nice Toyota logo center caps in red, so I painted the calipers red to match the LED's I have in the corners and turn signals.
Pics to follow during the day....

It's definitely a nice oem wheel. I have two sets of them sitting in storage in my back yard. I will probably end up using a set of them on my alltrac once I get some tires.

You have red led's in your corners? Isn't that illegal in your state?

On a drop like that, i don't know that i would go wider than 215/45-16. That's what i run, and i'm on the verge of rubbing i think. I will try 225/45-16s when these wear out, though.

Cop I asked didn't think so, was sitting in his car outside of Auto Zone when I bought them, and I asked if I would get pulled over for them. He said he only thought I would if a cop behind me thought one of my lights was out because they blink faster.

45's? I have 50's on there now, you think I should go with 45's if I go to 215's? (Didn't think wider than 215's would fit...)

Saw them on Craigslist, called the guy, and we started talking Celicas. He told me he was on NewCeli, and I of course mentioned CTech. Don't know if he ever stopped by here. He has a really nice 7th gen. Don't know what he did to the engine, but I know I heard a BOV.

We can't put any cop light colors on our cars in this state under penalty of impersonation.

205/50-16s are close to the right size, 215/45-16s are a tiny bit shorter than stock, and 225/45-16s are almost dead on.

^Indiana sucks for that.

Me and my buddy in high school got stopped one night in his TAN BUICK PARK AVENUE for having blue tire flies on the car. Riley was a dick and started asking the cop why.

"Because someone could confuse this vehicle for an emergency vehicle such as a police car."

Its BS but whatever. The only lights I like on my headlights are the ice white ones (blueish tint) or the hyperviolet (purple) to add to the HID coloring.

7th Gen GTS rims are nice wheels. I either wanted those or the tC rims for my red 90 coupe way back when I thought I could make the car look good...lol.

picked mine up from a guy in newcelica too. mine had fairly new tires... i perfer alittle wider... im still debating if i should trade it for the older 15x7.. 6.5 is alittle too small.

215/50R16's

Probably be a little off.....

When you are going 60mph with that setup, you're actually going 61.5mph.

215/45-16 would be closer. When speedo showing 60, you're actually going 59.3mph.

225's will fit on a 7" wheel, but you won't get optimum traction from the tire with the 7". Try a 7.5" or 8" if you want wider than a 215.

Nice :) Almost as good as the brand new set of take-offs I got for $100 with new tires. One of the few awesome things I got out of working at the dealership, heheh.

I'm not concerned with going 1.2 mph over the speedo, the idea of 45 profile rubber and bent/ruined wheels scares me a lot more!

Cheap nice rims = good stuff. About 8 years ago I nearly picked up a set of rims off a 5th gen for free. They were sitting down the block from the performance shop I used to go to. Was going to use them as a set of spare tires on the old 'vert, until I picked one of them up and there was a huge crack on the inside of the rim. Didn't pay, since I just picked up my Konigs for the 'vert, and they were the wire spoke rims.

Hell, I gave away the ones I had.
