Ok im new here and as of right now i dont have a celica.
I plan on getring one real soon though.
Ive been searching all over for a 90-93 GT Coupe, but no luck.
I am tempted to buy an ST i found around town but its an automatic.
If i was to buy it i would swap the stock for a 4age silvertop.
I heard the silvertop wont bolt to the tranny tho, i need an 8 bolt flexplate.
I dont want to make it a manual so i was wondering if i buy the silvertop with a 5speed tranny if i can use the flexplate out of that transmission on the auto?
If i cant would it be ok to drill holes in the 6 bolt to make it fit?

thanks

First of all a flexplate and a flywheel are two different things.

You can not use one for the other.

Second drilling holes through a flexplate to make it fit is not a wise thing to do.

I would suggest just buying the Celica, then learning all you can about it from the community before planning a swap.

I agree with murg, do your research before starting the swap. As a side note you could avoid all the effort of swapping trannys by getting a silvertop with an auto tranny.
