Are cracks on tires repairable at all?

I went and bought a new tire cause I had a gaping hole in it, came home, aired the other 3 tires up and found one had a leak coming from a crack on the tread near the sidewall.

They are repairable. You probably can't do it yourself, but this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU) guide might help you. If you cant do it, just bring it to a shop.

Just wanted to know cause I know holes such as nail punctures are repairable, but wasnt sure about cracks.

If it's leaking chances are the belt under the tread is blown... get a new tire.

It may only be cracked on the out side but only a hole in the inside if its not more the a .5 inch hole on the inside your local tire repair shop should be able to repair it with a plug patch. If it can't be repaired they will let you know

If it's in the sidewall, no, they won't fix it.

At least we wont at Toyota.

Thanks.
I will bring it to the shop tommorow and see what they say.
Its just a crack on the tread, but it leaks air from it.
Just not fond of spending $160CND again for another tire (:

I don't know of any shop that will repair a hole/leak in a sidewall or within a half inch of the sidewall. I have wound up plugging several of my own tires because they had a leak so close to the sidewall.
