View Full Version : Just Wanted to say hello.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. i know a few of the guys here from the knoxville, Tn area, i've just never joined up. I'm a long time toyota lover and tweaker.

My stable includes an '88 All-trac, and a '91 Lexus V-8 powered Supra.

I'm bummed that i missed the dragon run this time around, but hopefully i can plan for the next one better.

I must admit I have alway been partial to the mkIII

And the Lexus V8 swap....nice

Side-pipes! thats just bad-ass awesome.

04-22-2008, 06:29 AM
wow, a V8 supra, now thats unique. It looks good, my friend whom I bought my celica off of bought an MK3 supra and let me drive it, it was fun...but unfortunately the motor went not too long after, was real upsetting. Welcome to the site!

The car looks just bad ass in person.

That was all I kept hearing about from everyone that went up to Advance this weekend. The Supra with sidepipes.

Joe and I rolled up there this morning and saw it, we had to ask about it inside.

We talked for a bit, but like a dumbass (I have been suffering from this curse for a couple of days now) I didn't ask your name.

Welcome aboard, I hope to see you around some, both here and in town.

Be sure to post some pics of your ST165 as well.

Now THAT'S the engine that should have been in the mkiii :D

should have mentioned this earlier but.....

the V8 swap is one alternative to fixing the factory problem with the 7M-GTE popping head gaskets. What transmission is bolted up to that? I'm not too familiar with the actual swaping on that engine, but its up there in terms of overall improvement (power, reliability, fun, ect...) with the 2jz swap.

freaking nice supra man!

04-23-2008, 06:28 AM
Nice, Love it!!!!

04-23-2008, 02:34 PM
Thanks everyone!

The V-8 is actually rated 260hp, the same as the 2jz, with no boost. it has a nearly indestructible 6 bolt main bottom end, and some pretty beefy rods (in the first gen 1UZ-FE). so eventually, with money and time, i plan to put a roots blower on top of it and make some real power.

i will get some pictures of the celica and supra together today.

I love that MkIII Supra.

04-24-2008, 04:03 AM
deffinately a nice supra, I would just prefer a manual myself. That alltrac isnt that bad, I'd love to have an ST165

04-24-2008, 09:31 PM
again, thanks everyone!

the supra will be a manual. its just not bolt on because lexus never put a manual tranny with that motor, so it'll all be custom work. i just couldnt afford it at the time, and i wanted it done rather than waiting on a trans.

the alltrac badly needs a paintjob, new shocks and springs, wheels, and an exhaust, and it would be sweet.
