Hello everyone I have a 96 celica 5sfe and the throttle likes to stick. This is very annoying as it causes me to rev unnecessarily. The throttle will resist moving then pop in sending rpms over 3k. Make it no fun driving in traffic. I know the throttle is cable driven and I dont see any kinks when looking under the hood. I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue before and has a suggestion of what I should replace. Thanks

Mine sticks on my 6th gen also, but I haven't had the time to investigate it yet.

Just a little bit of throttle body cleaner. Could just be a sticky dirty throttle. My Z used to do the same thing till i cleaned it and it was corrected

Guess would be that you'll have to adjust the throttle stop screw. What was happening for me was if I set it too low it'd come back too far and jam itself. Try adjusting that so it doesn't jam back and you should be all set to go.

How do I adjust the throttle stop screw? Where is it located. And the car is 5spd

It should be by the throttle body... it'll have a 10 or 8mm nut and a allen bolt. If you need further clarification I'll go take a picture.
